A couple days back we attempted to move the forums to a server I'd set up, so that Marty wouldn't have to keep footing the bill for this place, and hopefully stopping the problems we've been having. However, we experienced problems with the new DNS servers not accepting the domain. This led to the forum being unavailable and made it look like it had gone boom once more.
Several of us were getting bombarded with ICQ's, MSN's, and whatnots asking about the server, and since it would have been impossible to send a PM or write a forum post on what was a non-existant board at the time, I thought of the next best thing - to send E-mails so that people know what's going on with the board.
So I went and got a nice mailer, and collated a list of E-mails that it was to send the message to, with each recipient as BCC. Or at least, it was meant to.
So now I've got this E-mail typed up, and I'm tabbing back and forth between ICQ, MSN, and Firefox, and send the E-mail. Moments later "You have mail!" *opens up the E-mail, suddenly thinks "$?%&"*.
I'm now faced with this E-mail, where the addresses that were supposedly meant to be placed into the BCC have been placed into the To: line instead.
I seriously messed up with it big time, and I'm really, really sorry to all of you whom I've let down.
If there was a way I could go and get rid of the E-mails, I'd do it in a heartbeat, but unfortunately there isn't.
I've been meaning to post this when I've had the time to be able to inbetween getting the forums sorted amongst other things.
I should've double checked, and checked again to make sure, but I didn't. I was caught up in the flow of things, and rushing about trying to get things sorted and under control again.
Theres not much else I can do, except to say how sorry I am that this happened, and I can assure you that my best will be done to make sure nothing stupid like that is done again.
