Using RSS-feeds (Syndication) and a little tweaking from the Admins, this may actually be easier than thought, showing snippets from the posted articles above a board, etc.

I agree with that sentiment and I am not suggesting you remove the Poste from F4G, but rather than cramming it into the forum environment, give the Poste a possibility to expand and show truly how great it is. I am seeing this more as a RP tool, rather than having to do with the make-up of the forum or anything.

Location is something relative on the web and depending on where you are coming from, the Poste is already not in a very centralised location. With the proper linking, etc. there should be very little difference felt.

Eye-candy again is a matter of preference, but I think that especially in RP-circles it has its merits, same as the stacking of pieces of cloth to make a larger bed in-game, or other items to make a toilet, etc. The main difference is that the blog software by design is far more suited to handle a newspaper than the forum us, considering what functions it offers (i.e. text flowing around pictures, various formating options, snippets (short introduction to an article, linking you to the full article), etc.). and with a proper skin, looking like a real newspaper, it might just a be a nice touch ... and also, since it is already setup, you won't need to pay attention to the format of it.

In different formats? If it was a case of copy paste.. maybe.. but it couldn't be if it's on a blog type site. It takes long enough to put each edition together as it is.
I guess I should not have used the word criticism, because it really isn't. I have a lot of respect for the Poste writers and the work they do. I apologise if I have caused offense.

The workload, if anything, on a blog-site should be easier, albeit different. It will allow you to post articles individually as you are done with them, rather than waiting for that last bit of info that you want to put into todays edition but is not ready yet, and since it is meant for casual writes as well as professionals, it is really easy to use. It is true that on a blogsite the Poste would be more individual-story-based, rather than edition-based, but I do not see that as a bad thing. You could even have several people working together on the same edition and post their articles individually.

And with the syndication options, you might end up only having to type it once and not copy and paste it anywhere, because the RSS feeds will automatically update the sites they are set-up on.

The Poste is interesting even if it is not submerged in all the other story-threads the community brings with it. If anything, the separate blog-site would give it more importance, rather than turn it into "just another bookmark.

I think I will leave it there. I did not mention this idea because I feel that the Poste is bad or poorly done, but mainly to improve on something already good, that might also make your lives easier. I unfortunately don't have the time right now to whip up a quick mock-up of my idea, but there are also far more talented people out there who would know what to do right away.

Keep up the good work.
