Its September 2000, and having survived the Y2K apocalypse a small band of stratics posters from the Europa UO forum decide to start a guild to train for the faction system. The Renaissance expansion was released in April and the faction system was due to be part of the expansion, it got delayed a bit though and in September it was looking like it was going to be made active soon. The guild brought together Role-Players and Player Killers and we had a little log cabin just outside of Trinsic. We needed a place to talk and stratagise and the regular Europa forum posters who werent part of the guild were getting a bit bored of our guilds posts so a forum was set up on 6th September. The guild had a flashy $200 forum and it was going to waste, through the faction training guilds members it became obvious there were a lot of guilds out there with no where to talk. Unlike now there wasnt a huge amount of forum software out there, the free boards were rubbish and the boards that cost money were out of the price range of most guilds, hosting too was also a pain in the ass and expensive. So the offer of forum hosting went out and slowley the offer was accepted. By early 2001 a massive 8 guilds had signed up and the forum had a name, Europaguilds. We had 204 members and 3396 posts on the forum, truly the feather in the cap was the (A)ssociation forum the largest guild on Europa. The faction system was introduced in December 2000 but the guild that started this all had died before then.
And yes, the top bit really did look that bad
