| The most boring was sticking barcodes on bottles of shampoo that came down a conveyor belt. That wasn't the worst though... One warehouse job I had was cleaning bathroom scales that people had returned to Argos. I had to get on them to see if they were genuinely faulty, or just unflattering, and then take the unflattering ones, clean them with cleaning fluids (a lot had grey gunk on from sticky labels) and pack them up. What made it particularly nasty was that the warehouse was freezing cold and I was so poor at the time I had holes in my shoes and had to stand on cardboard to stop my feet freezing. I was so miserable I'd go home and cry. Fortunately it was only for a week. I don't think I could have lasted any longer. |
