A Letter to Start us Off

Dear Staff at the Morning Poste,

I couldn't help to notice, that you wrote that it was Cala that made fun of the Barons boots. That's a little error, since it was me that did that. But seriously - Men in tight boots. Ain't that just a wee bit man-loving?

*Signed*
Rebecca of the Swaggers Inn.

editor's note - seems daft to us to give your name as the insulter in this case - one wonders what the Covians will make of this?

Update on the Captured Dimman

Sources tell us that Dimman had spent some time in Strongholt Prison, and having survived the hospitality of Captain Duo was ready for his final journey. Kaldorians inform us that he was “Once a good Maul Knight”, who had “inexplicably deserted and joined forces with those bastards in Cove”.

Apparently three times he was given the chance to repent and return to the Army of Kaldor; three times he refused. The only recourse left to the Kaldorians in their own words was “to execute the traitor”.

After being given his last rites by Foxy, and an ale, as his last request, he was taken upstairs to the guillotine. Commander Cal Soulshadow seemed a little dubious of this newfangled device; asking “what is wrong with an old fashioned firing squad, or even an axe”, but was assured it was a quick and clean way to end a life.

An initial test worked, but a second test was performed once Dimman was upon the scaffold, and as sod's law had it, the blade jammed. A footsoldier was sent to fetch oil, while Dimman shivered on the platform.

Once the blade was oiled and ready, Dimman was asked for his last words.

As he kneed beneath the great blade, a great many footsteps sounded on the stone steps of the prison. Covians!

Dimman was hastily bundled into Duo's office, while the Kaldorians grouped at the top of the stairs. The battle was fierce, but the Covians were too many for the Kaldorians to handle this time. So it would seem Dimman would live to see another day.

Editor’s note – we are trying to hear from anyone from Cove who has the time to give their side of events. As an impartial newspaper we would love to hear anything from Cove.

Whilst looking for a Covian to ask we did find this:

And also this seeming decree:

Greetings faithful Covians. It has come to my attention that many within our fair town have been harbouring heresy within their souls. The act known as 'magery' shall henceforth be illegal unless all persons practicing it doth register themselves as magelings. Any found to be violating this accord will be dealt with swiftly. In addition, the mages of the army shall now be organized into a new unit which shall specialise in the research of arcane matters. Know thy enemy.

Signed neatly:

Ingram Bloodrock,

Minister of magic.
