Birth plan? In my time we didn't have such things, that sounds so old. I had to be cut and had stitches but was anethetised first. I was asked if I wanted pethadine and took a while before I accepted as the pain I was having hurt more than any injection would. Was definatly good after but I was so out of it and not sure if thats why he slept so well on the first night too.
On the other hand my sister had a home birth with no drugs at all, because she couldn't get to the hospital in time. Don't think I'd ever want to swap places there. |
