Something I found whilst cleaning up that made me sniffle a bit...

Quote:
The goodbyes had been said. The things that meant something to them had been given to new owners that would care for them and appreciate their meaning. There was nothing left to keep them here.

Camigwen went to pull her cloak about her tighter and realised that she had indeed handed that too to the keeping of her family.

Nervously she took a blood red cloak from an old chest, the one she had worn when she pledged her life and heart to her mate. She fastened it securely, closed the chest and walked out into the evening air. The door she locked behind her, knowing that the twins would be along later to begin the arrangements for its sale.

Gorbash was taking his time.

They should have left already.

Camigwen opened the door to the abbatoir next door to see if he was still inside.

The smell of fresh blood overwhelmed her senses immediately, a thick, cloying, coppery smell that made her head swim with anticipation. She took in the scene slowly. Gorbash stood there with a beaming grin in the centre of the small room, waiting.
On every available inch of floor, wall or table top there was a freshly carved heart. Most appeared upon a cursory look to be animal hearts, yet one or two looked decidedly humanoid. Gwen would not be able to tell for definate without careful examination or perhaps a long savouring taste.

Focussing once more on Gorbash and his grin, Camigwen smiled. This job would be a hard one, yet they would have each other still to lean on. Camigwen dropped her bag to the floor and launched herself at her love, her soulmate...her hurk.

A few hours later, a somewhat bloodstained pair of shapes sneaked out of a small building attached to a house in Vesper close to the moongate. They held each others hands tightly, almost a steadying factor to one of the two, who now walked with a pronounced limp. Only the most observant person placed almost on top of the moongate could have heard the slight nervous giggle and the whispered question "Are you ready for the next adventure, Mr Pointy Teef?"

...and none the response...

"As always, luv. Got me Gwen"

...as they stepped through the moongate for the final time.
Thought I'd leave it there for Seriya to find *winks*
