“Mylady,” A green clad messenger approached VanQa, startling her and making her quickly hide her face underneath the hood of her robe. “I carry a message that is addressed to you that was left for you in the Elven Quarter.” Respectfully and with a hint of regret in his face for her sudden embarrassment, the man knelt down before her and offered her a bouquet of Rosehips together with a note.
With a polite nod and feeling her cheeks blush for causing the man to feel uneasy, VanQa took the flowers and the message from him, thanking him for bringing it to her before he turned and left her.

My dearest VanQa,
Thank you so much for the wonderfull bouquet you sent me. I have put it in a vase and enjoyed the remarkable scent they give out. I have also put some outside the cottage in the hope that they will stay fresh and fragrant for as long as possible.
Rosehip is one of my favourite flowers, and it grows in abundance along the coast of Yew. These I picked on the south-facing bank of the riven dell that runs through the village of Silverleaf on its way to the sea, and which as a specially sheltered mild climate.
Rosehips flower late by any standards but there they flower well into November.
I hope to come and visit you, as I am preparing a gift that I will make and that will be a surprise and a labour of love.
I think much of you and long to see you again.

She smiled and cradled the bouquet. After a while she and her flowers moved to the edge of Eska’eldalie, staring hopefully into the woods. Waiting…
