Right - the fair lady Abhorsen was completing quests in Britain last night, and crept into the castle as she saw people streaming around the place. She handed me a transcript of what she heard, so I've kept the words from Jordan, Clainin and Sherry, and filled in the blanks from the directions she gave me.
Abhorsen apologies if she missed some things. Apparently, she was trying to kill rats as well...
Jordan Jurrel: Well, Clainin's got to work...
Jordan Jurrel: Have you people been helping out here?
Jordan Jurrel: So...
Jordan Jurrel: What exactly has been happening here?
Ashe Darkblade: rats!!
Deacon Blue: rats
Lucky: RATS
Abhorsen: Unclean things.
Treval: They're pesky little things, but we're despatching them
Clainin: Everyone, we must somehow push back this vermin menace!
Jordan Jurrel: Might be worthwhile having a look around the castle.
Jordan Jurrel: *nods*
Jordan Jurrel: Seeing if any holes have let the creatures in.
Chimera: they came from mouse holes
Jordan Jurrel: Have you seen some mouse holes, Chimera?
Quick Brown Fox: I found lots of holes Jordan
Ultima Online: i have squeezed through them
Deacon Blue: there is mouse holes all over
Jordan Jurrel: Where are these mouse holes?
Jordan Jurrel: Show me...
Quick Brown Fox: LBs bedroonm is one
Jordan Jurrel: I'll follow you.
(People followed Jordan out of the throne room. More rats appeared in the throne room, and Abhorsen and others started killing them. After a few minutes, a large crowd came back, as more rats appeared.)
Jordan Jurrel: Clainin!
Jordan Jurrel: What is it with these rats?
(Another wave of rats swept the room)
Clainin: Thou shouldst not have messed with me!
Clainin: They're everywhere! Stand back! I'm going to try to burn them all out!
(A mouse crawled out from under the throne and pushed pass Jordan)
Jordan Jurrel: *jumps*
Sherry: What are you doing to my home!?
Jordan Jurrel: I...
Sherry: *SQUEEEEAAAKK!!!*
(Great flames seemed to sweap across the room... and the rats were gone. That was one loud squeak.)
Jordan Jurrel: Ah...
Jordan Jurrel: That is...
Jordan Jurrel: Who...
Jordan Jurrel: Who are you?
Sherry: Well, that seems to have done it at least
Sherry: Oh, Hi! I'm Sherry! I live here. Who're you?
Clainin: Sherry? Sherry! I am Clainin, but I thought thou had... How extraordinary!
Clainin: Wilt thou come with me? I must introduce you to the Royal Council
Sherry: *squeak* Of course!
Clainin: Excuse us everyone, I will leave the remainder to ye
(Clainin casts a spell, and both vanish, leaving Jordan and a room full of the Guard behind)
Jordan Jurrel: *blinks*
Jordan Jurrel: A... talking mouse...
Jordan Jurrel: Sherry seems to have scared off the rest of the rats.
Jordan Jurrel: If you search around and clean up the last stragglers...
Jordan Jurrel: I'm certain we've seen the last of them.
Jordan Jurrel: Seems that people have been finding a few odd coins here and there...
Jordan Jurrel: Those rats must have got into the old storage vaults.
Jordan Jurrel: Thank you for that impromptu bit of pest control, my friends.
Jordan Jurrel: We should look out for Sherry returning to speak with us, once Clainin has introduced her
Jordan Jurrel: to the Ruling Council. I'm certain she'll have much to say...
...and then there is now a randomly appearing Sherry. I'm packing up some cheese, and going to have a word with her later.
Magical mice? That's something I could steal away and place in my reliquary... Who needs these tokuno items when I could have a talking mouse...
