Over the past few days, I've done a few major updates to the
MoongatesWiki, the community project of documenting the role-playing legacy of Europa. A few of the changes include:
- A partially implemented new theme (which still has a few quirks in MSIE)
- Updated categories for the Article of the Week
- Updated archives for the Poste Portal
- Several structural updates
- New portal interface with links to handy websites at the top
In addition to this, we have plans for a few more things:
- A library system, which will allow you to add player written books into the largest out-of-game UO library that's been made
- Weekly focus on a specific article: An article is suggested as the next week's main project, which people are encouraged to contribute to
- Further integration of templates to ease the dynamic updates
- Closer cooperation in archiving the Poste issues
To be able to achieve these goals, we need further support from the community. This is an important community project, and there are several ways of contributing to the wiki:
- Updating, correcting and expanding articles
- Writing new articles on guilds, locations, skills, Ultima-games, people, quests, campaigns and wars. (+++)
- Contributing pictures, art and screenshots
- Using the wiki!
I hope that the wiki will be a useful resource for information related to role-playing on Europa. If we are able to develop into a useful resource not only to ourselves, but perhaps others outside of the community, it might also play a part in the recruitment of new role-players and new guilds to the community.
At the moment there is no central "gathering point" for the community at large. The wiki has come far at providing this, and we're now closing in on three hundred articles, but it still needs your continued support.
