Post Character Profiles

Character Profile:
Ray Strongbow

Name: Ray “Mr Lumber” Strongbow
Height: 6ft 3”
Age: 48 Years Old

Appearance:
Ray is a broadly built man along with being tall. He has dark skin and his natural hair colour has turned grey, although this is now covered with brown dye. His body has many scars left from many years of carpentry and three chopping, although none are particularly bad. His eyes are brown and teeth are crooked and yellow, due to years of neglect.

Brands:
Ray has a small arrow shaped mark on his right shoulder.

Work Ethics:
Ray is not one to shy away from hard work, he takes pride in what he undertakes and with years of experience always delivers what he promises. He can be found chopping away late at night to make sure orders are completed on time and shaping wood long into the early hours of the morning. Although he is still learning his professions, even at such an age, he knows a lot about wood and hopes he can find an apprentice one day to pass on his knowledge to.

Skills:
Ray is a highly skilled Lumberjack with skills in Carpentry, Fletching and Tinkering. He has a good grasp of bow usage although his slow hands are no longer as suited to the bow as they once were.

Personality:
Ray tends to shy away from large groups and when found in one, tends to keep quiet and listens rather than talks. Often he can be found in his favourite place, the forests of Britannia, quietly working away to gather wood. He is extremely loyal and even though his archery skills are no longer up to much, he will defend a friends life with his own if required.

Background:
Ray grew up in Yew as an only child, often left to amuse himself he invented many games to amuse himself, most of them involved collecting wood from the nearby forest which is where his love of the forest and wood stems from. At the age of sixteen his father died and his mother found a new husband who insisted Ray had to leave. For the next twenty eight years Ray did not have a lot of contact with humans, often only engaging to quickly trade goods, conversations were not his strong point and he carved out a living chopping wood, making simple items and selling them. At this point he was a bit of a nomad.

Over the years Britannia slowly changed and at the age of Forty Four he found an advert for the Royal Marksmen. He decided to join them as his lonely life had started to depress him slightly. Although not the most intelligent or quickest of marksmen, Ray strength and willingness to learn meant he enjoyed his time with the regiment, managing to build up some good friendships is the process. However the Royal Marksmen disbanded, leaving Ray disappointed, although for not too long. The Regiments leaders had setup a trading company, asking Ray to join which he gladly accepted and started settling into his new job.

One day soon after the new company was formed there was a knock at his door and a man was standing there, claiming to have knowledge of his mother and the children she had had since Ray had left. He followed the man and found he was being truthful, he spent a few years trying to get to know his two half brothers and half sister but felt he was missing something and returned to Trinsic to continue where he left.

Although Devante, the boss of Stirling & Kendall, the company he worked for, was concerned by the long absence from Ray he allowed him to return to the company in his old position. Ray, now aged forth eight, settled back into his position which is where he is currently working.

Reputation:
Ray is not a well known character, he tends to work quietly and not interact with people he does not know, however his name is well received from all who know his work ethic and personality.

Motivation:

Ray wants to secure his future so that he never has to go back to the days he barely had enough food to eat. He wants to become a master of Carpentry and learn about the types of wood he is yet to discover. He has little desire to use his bow in combat again as he feels those days have past him by.

Beliefs:
Ray has never been one for religion and is not likely to start now. He can be sometimes found uttering words of thanks to trees for providing him with fine lumber that he can use to sell and construct fine items.

Time line of events:

Age 16: Left Yew to find new hope, ends up roaming the lands for 28 years.
Age 44: Joins Royal Marksmen, progresses to Private before the Regiment disband late in the year.
Age 45: Joins newly created Stirling & Kendall Trading Company as Woodsman. Later in the year is reunited with mother and half brothers and sister, no message is left for who he left behind.
Age 48: Returns to Trinsic and Stirling & Kendall at his old position, put in charge of wood stock and a timber merchant.
