I think - The Lord Protector is sitting in his Manor back home in Yew and laughs his arse off...
Reliefed that the Celts eased the attacks in Yew and apparently moved on to west Vesper - DOH!!!
I heard about it last week, when Frelt came into the Swaggers rather late in the evening.
He had heard something about the civvies in west Vesper wasn't satisfied with Van picking
Reywal as Mayor of west Vesper/Minoc and that the Civvies now apparently had grabbed theire weapons
and demanded a new Mayor.
Frelt wanted to bring a patrol there and check how 'bad' things were. But since it were so late,
he struggled to come up with some men. He came up with William and Van - Turned to me and Declan
and asked, if we wanted to come.
Having nothing better to do, we began walking towards west Vesper/Minoc - Gawd! What is it called these days?!
We reached west Vesper and found a handful of Civvies, which apparently wasn't satisfied. I spotted Newlyn
and got so confused over her beeing there, that I got distracted and didn't attack when the fight broke out.
I was thinking "What the feck?!... Who the hell, am I suppose to attack?!"
They wounded Van, Will and I think Frelt got wounded aswell.
Declan and I didn't get hurt - So we stayed briefly and talked a little with Newlyn and Co.
The whole thing goes way back.
I honestly believe, it goes back to when Twothumb was a Baron.
I learned, that the Civvies were angry, that they didn't get a saying in the politics and that Vesper just assumed,
that the Civvies of west Vesper/Minoc were alright with beeing under the control of Vesper.
And it sure as feck didn't help, that Van made Reywal Mayor there. The Civvies claimed that Reywal did shite
for the City and yada yada..
Declan and I returned to the Swaggers, were we found Van with a bolt in his back.
Getting rid of the bolt and tending the wound, I told Van what I found out..
Van however - were rather positive, that Hedlyn and his friends were behind it all.
Knowing that Newlyn were there, I have the same feeling - But I prefer to push it away.
I mean, Hedlyn wouldn't bring a civvie war so close to our daugther, right?
I suggested Van, to try and invite to a meeting with the Civvies, so he can hear what they are angry about
and then maybe they can find a solution. I think Van liked the idea and then we talked about a new election
for a Mayor in west Vesper/Minoc so that the Civvies also have a saying - Hell, they could even try run for Mayor..?
I guess, time will tell - What's gonna happen in the future with that part of the City..
So Van and Maddy got married last night.
Stewan from Trinsic were in charge of the food and I can't forget the wedding cake.
It were on the size of a child, with chocolate - Yum yum!
I were busy with arrangeing the tables, cause Maddy and Van wanted to hold the reception in Vesper.
Blue and Red... Naaaarh - It didn't work with the flowers!
We tried out a few colours, before we finally found the rigth one.
a dusty blue..
The Cermony itself left most of the Guest stunned and I must admit, Gwen did a hell of a job there.
I can't help, but to smile when thinking back at it. And I will recommend her to future weddings.
Hell - I think, I would ask her - If I ever change my mind about getting married.
After the cermony, I rushed back to Vesper to count up again, makeing sure, that no thief's had nicked a goblet or plate and I found
some guests, which apparently didn't see the Cermony - Theire loss though.
A moment later, the Bride and Groom arrived and the Guests went up to the tables with food and drinks and picked whatever they
desired.
When people were back on theire seats Van's best man Jake, held a little speach and we all raised our glasses for Maddy and Van..
and then the party kicked off...
After the party, I began to tidy up - Last thing I needed was a fine for leaving stuff behind the Swaggers.
Thaur, Hoagie, Jenny and a Covian - Which name slipped my mind stopped by and I sat down and had a little chat with them, before they left and I returned to the tidying.
When I were done, I were so exhausted, that I just went upstairs and collapsed on my bed.
It's unbelieveble what a good night sleep can do...
Oh well - I'll write more later, gotta check, what we need to stock up downstairs. |
