Well look at it this way - with a 256mb card [hope you got one on your new pc] you should be able to run stuff much much faster.
And if I was buying a new PC I would seriously be considering a Dell off the shelf PC and just putting in a 256mb card - cost should be about £300-£400 + VAT or so.
