hehe yeah, I was always reading when younger too.

I remember a free day at junior school when we were allowed to bring in any book we liked to read for the day. I brought in my prized possession (at the time) a nice red leather bound copy of all three part of The Lord of the Rings. I happily hid away in a corner and lost myself in the book *was in heaven*

The teacher then insisted on dragging people up to read excerpts from their book to her and upon selecting several passages at random for me to read back to her, announced that I had memorised it!

Dear god...whilst my reading skill might have been a lot better than that of the children in my class at school (not difficult, it wasn't a very good school) and the book may have been a bit advanced for a child, it was what I read at home. I'd be far more ready to believe that a child might actually enjoy reading and be good at it than that they could memorise an entire copy of all three books of The Lord of the Rings page for page and recall excerpts at will!

Just as well she didn't see my collection of Edgar Allen Poe then...
