| Another trick that might work, (I am not sure if it still does), is to turn on any vet reward statues you may have. They used to go off when anyone passed by, dead or alive. It didn't cure the problem but at least I was aware when anyone else was about.
I had used this long ago because of a stalker who followed me everywhere in ghost form and it was very creepy. The statues were noisy but they did help.
