Brigand Blood Brawl Ends In Carnage
Calls to outlaw heinous sport.

Just a few nights ago, a hideous, disgusting, awful event took place. And we're not talking about Callum Fitzhugh's alleged biannual bath. Oh no.

The group of social outcasts, misfits, and general pests, the Brigands of the Fort - sick and tired of lying in wait and then jumping out on people, robbing them, and beating them near to death used those evil little brain cells, and organised a competition where the aim was (yes, you've guessed it) to jump out on people, rob them, and beat them to death.

The evening began well with little trouble from either hosts or those attending and after many bloody duels Lady Hutula (who has, apparently, reawakened the shadowy cult known as the Spectral Order) walked away with first place and a rather large sum of prize money! But as the evening was drawing to an end members of the Knights Hospitaller, who were apparently looking for the wanted criminal Henry Winter, attempted to arrest one of the female brigands. A skirmish ensued and both sides took losses, but finally the knights were driven out of the gangs lands. Which is, quite frankly, a shame. Your darling reporter isn't one to cry down a good old bash, but when it involves sanctioned attacks? Tsk!

Iglata: Justice unpunished?
A report from a freelance journalist reporting from the Elven Quarter

Early this week a rumour spread round Trinsic's Elven Quarter that despite the Duchy sitting on a mountain of evidence, witness statements, and threatening letters written by the accused himself, the mass-murderer Iglata Slyannan is not to be put on trial, but released with no more punishment than a flogging. This, it would seem from a reading of the laws of Trinsic is all that can be done even were he to be brought to trial and convicted!

The rumour has since spread like wildfire through Trinsic's Elven Quarter and far beyond. It would seem that VanQa's remaining sisters (the ones Iglata has not managed to murder or incapacitate yet) have gone into hiding. Draxandru Rose was certainly not at Wednesday's Free Repairs Hour and has not been seen since. Already there is a small trickle of elves fleeing towards the Trinsic Moongate to safety, though mostly mothers with suckling infants and some aged and infirm hobbling with walking sticks and crutches. Some were heading for Eska'eladlie, others for Heartwood.

Gwen Irima, the new leader of the Trinsic Elves since VanQa lies unconscious after Iglata kidnapped and tortured her, struggles gamely on, trying to be understanding of the incomprehensible callousness of the Duchy response. The Silver Warriors stand firm and await developments, and it is likely the Marksmen Regiment do to, as Captain Devante has been a vocal and active supporter of the elves against Iglata. Perhaps there is a conflict of interest here between the Regiment' loyalist duty to follow the Duchy line and Devante's sympathy for his elven neighbours?

The absence of any official public statement is becoming less comprehensible with each passing day. Indeed, the silence has become deafening. The latest rumour is that the mass-murderer is to be released on Monday. Will this turn a stream of elven refugees into a flood?

There is a growing anger here with wild talk among the hotheads of starting vigilante groups to take the law into their own hands, even of joining the rebels. This is a public relations disaster for the Duchy that looks like paving the way to another murder-spree, and perhaps result in vigilante solutions to the problem that the Duchy is clearly incapable of dealing with.

The Weekend Picture Supplement

Darlings, your art-loving reporter happened to catch a glance of a sketch that was anonymously dropped into the Poste's letterbox just last night. Your sceptical reporter is not sure if this is an accurate representation of some sort of event, or if some scurrilous trouble-bucket has just decided to make a load of trouble. However, it seems some idol-worship may be kicking off amongst the men of Trinsic, such as they are. If anyone recognises people who have been depicted in the picture, please write in and let us know... and if we can have the scoop on this strange ritual, we'd love to hear about it. Lola needs worship too!

Quote:
You see a sketch of open grassland and in the background you see a dark wood slowly rising.
In front of the wood you see a figure posing proudly on a tree stump. The woman seems to be young and attractive with leather armour covering her. Only thing unusual about her are her catlike ears and her catlike tail.
On her head you can see a golden crown with lots of jewels, but still you see her ears perk up above it.
She has her hands lifted as if giving her praise to her subjects.

Besides the woman on the treestump is a big wolf that stands close to her seems to protect her.

In front of her you can see lots of people bowing down as if worshipping her.
Many seem to be dressed with kilts and greenish metal armour. And really if you look close you can make out the features of several familiar faces amongst the armoured troops, and some other prominent men from Trinsic*
