well got the new hardware now - and it boots up! woot! though it took me ages to find a working SATA driver so i could install windows - now i'm realising i'd forgotten how long it takes to format a 250GB harddisk - maybe starting ti at 10pm was a bad idea considering i have to work tomorrow

all things being equal (which they are not) i'll have a working uber PC by this time tomorrow
