End of the day most use the 'PvP' tag as an excuse to vent off thier frustrations of the day and grief who they want. The more frustrated teen's enter a realm the more the problem escalates.....if only it was acceptable to jack off in public whenever they wished most of the problems would be sorted.
Well when it comes to random CC'ing.. well.. that may be slightly off but even that is debatable... but when it comes to just simply randomly killing someone in an RP-PvP realm, it is not disrespectful, it is simply part of the gameplay.

It may seem like I am or would become a griefer in AoC, but that's (probably) not true.. I just simply don't want to have unnecessary rules. Also, let's face it, when we don't bind ourselves with such rules, it'll be easier for the GMs/Officers. :P Or I hope so

Well till now we got only rules of behaviour. We are a role playing community where we more or less know each other. (had plenty of time for that :P).

It always makes me feel ashamed when this sort of newbies and sunday griefers who think that only way to grief a person is just all time repeatedly killing him and saying "LOL LOLLOL LOL ur suck n00b", for this is weak form of grief and has no orginality as we true griefers place painstaking amounts of EFFORT in to what we do and when we grief you won't just feel that your gaming has been grieffed and ruined you will also feel gratitude to be part in such amazing scenario where the griefers brainwork and effort really shines all things he does to you and you can only think "gosh.. this was such fine grief I sincely feel that my gaming for this moment has been completly and totally ruined.. I better to go outside to drink something and tell my friends how amazingly well done grief I have experienced today."

In all that we grieffers aren't just people who make you feel bad and look for unfair gameplay... We are also people with hearts and determination to thrive to be good at what we do.

Because we do CARE how YOU feel when you play!

Man... you really need to teach me what does it mean to be a real griefer.

That doesn't make sense in a RP server. In real life you don't just go "oh, I think I'll kill that person". Even if you were inclined to do it there are consequences that would put you off. A maniac could justify randomly killing people but Funcom have already stated that won't be a justifiable reason on the RP servers.

Killing people for money/anger/a grudge/territorial reasons would be fair enough, but if a player does it soley because they're bored then they're no longer roleplaying.

The advantage of perma-death (combined with something better than levelling) is that people roleplay much more realistically and even pve becomes a lot more exciting.

Comparing real life, even more so in the concept of this day and age, to life in those days..is overall, silly. Same as trying to have some pre-conceptual rules and regulations to the day to day allowances of rp-pvp..in a fantasy world.

You can say "I was wanderin' around bored..saw someone an thought...I'll kill them..maybe make me less bored eh?" and call it RP, as much as you can say not attacking someone, because they havent done something to you is RP.

In real life, you'd get arrested, put away into prison. In days gone by, you'd get killed in retrospect of your actions. Maybe guards'll attack you for a while because your known for doing things, maybe they wont.

However, saying "sorry, you'd not do that outside of the game/in real life..." isnt a justified reason for not carrying out an action, in a fantasy, not real, game.

(above are my opinions and not rules, or regs and nothing but.)

Well killing is considered as sport in hyboria, also there tend to be people who just wander around looking for good fights not so unthinkable... as fighting against someone to see if they are "strong" is always a valid reason

Well nightchill and snubby have the grasp of how we will work.
About permadeath, it would be difficult for several people to experience the higher levels until they become better at it. Still I understand what you mean. Adrenaline rush ftw!

Aye, in a NWN2 persistant world I played for a bit (with permadeath) set in a Lost-like setting (remote island) it was kind of cool. The GMs would send in groups of orcs and lizardmen against us and at the end of each battle there would be several characters dead. You could join one of the guards units one day, fight alongside them for a few hours and log in the next day and find out half them had been wiped out after you'd logged on.

Scary...but realistic enough. Keeps the game interesting I guess

Would make most of the game content useless.

Funny, sounds like the game has shifted from roleplay to ruleplay before it has even started.

Seriously guys, give it a rest

The guy came here asking if you wanted to join his group, you've said no and made your feelings clear.

theres no need to have a go at it constantly, its not CORE or ERPA

Some of you REALLY have a chip on your shoulder about that obviously.

You dont want to join this coalition, you get the point

If you want to rant and bitch about CORE or ERPA go do it in the Drake and Dragon or soemthing
