As its gonna be 5pm tommora for us brits (whatever time for johnny foreigner) anyone planning on trying to get together from the start so we can work things out (like how teh fook to play the game) together?

Does everyone start in the same place or are thier options of where ye first land? or is it dependent on chosen race?

Gonna get in as soon as i can meself...suffer all the likely disconnections/server downs and see how things pan out.

Are people going to be trying to RP-pvp server? I've not heard of the euros selecting an unofficial rp-pve server. I'll be trying the RP server out, but I'm wary that Funcom won't enforce the rules and it will turn into a griefing haven. I'd be happier with a pve server but with guild-warring allowed, like what we do in UO. That way we could also have fights in cities.

I will be on early access tomorrow but not for too long as I'm nightshift. If I can 'reserve' the char names I want I'll be happy.

RP-pvp is only way to go once you tasted it weakling
also Really Powerfull-pvp servers are so hardcore that soon as you log in first thing you see on the screen is your DEAD body lying on beach and some grieffer coming to steal your loots

Carebear? I said I would be playing on the rp-pvp server, i was just curious if the Euros had nominated an unofficial rp-server like the Americans.

I have nothing against pvp, the bulk of my first year in UO (in 2000 on Lake Superior) was spent in Felucca pvping where you lost everything, not just some pvp experience points and an instant respawn. I played Lineage II until I got bored of the grind, which was open pvp everywhere. I also played a Neverwinter Nights rp-server with extremely slow levelling, pvp-allowed everywhere, and *perma-death* that makes Age of Conan look as hardcore as Hello Kitty Online. The difference? With perma-death pvp had a reason and major consequences, and the players were 100% roleplayers.

I would still prefer the option of guildwarring, to keep the non-rpers out of it. I'm in this mainly for the RP but looking forward to the pvp. But pvp with a 'reason'.

Being stalked by a cult of snake-worshipping Set cultists hellbent on sacrificing my character = cool.

Fighting a heroic last stand in a fortress being besieged by mercenaries = fun.

Fighting a bloody bar brawl over a spilt drink = fun.

Being ganked by a random group of non-rping arseholes with leet names using exploits and 3rd party programs and camping respawn points = not fun.

I work roughly 150 hours a month. My secondary voluntary job takes up about another 25 hours a month. I also like to go out pubbing/clubbing with friends and other social activites which takes up a lot of time. I don't have a lot of free-time to spend playing computer games and when I do get the chance, I'd prefer to get immersed in the game-world and not have that immersion broken by some immature wow-kiddies who can barely spell RP let alone participate in it.

I have hopes the RP-PVP server will have a mature playerbase, that FunCom will prevent the griefers from ruining it's purpose; but I wouldn't bet money on it.

The problem with only being able fight against certain guilds / groups (the ones you're warred with) will most likely cause lot of whining.. just like it did in ERPA and CoRE if you ever played in UO Europe server.

I do not want silly ristrictions, if there's a fucker that I don't like and I want him dead, I'll kill him without worrying about my GM getting any whines - an RP'er or not (that is, if I can kill them xD ). When it comes to PvP servers, the only thing I'm worried about if there's going to be a FFA loot system just like in UO.. I'm not that hardcore, after all. :P

If they did put in guildwars, at least that would (hopefully) allow pvp in cities. I'd love to have gangs of cutthroats skulking in alleys and roaming the docks.

The Europa guild wars may have had problems but a huge advantage was in being able to keep out all the neon weapons crap AOS inflicted on us. It was great having low-fantasy guilds in matching armour using normal weapons. If Europa went FFA every RP guild would be forced to use artifacts and ubered weapons. *Crosses fingers Funcom keeps the glowie weapons shit out of AoC*

Does anyone know if the bar brawl system is in? I've not ehard any feedback about it.

Didnt hear any buzz on it during the beta.. What i do know is however that you can use all three directional attacks barefisted.. Uppercuts ftw..
