Okay, I bought this and am very much still learning the basics.

It seems too WOW-like so far for my tastes, but I'm hoping maybe some differences will emerge as I get into it.

I guess my questions really boil down to, how is the game for RP so far? Since I'm still in the beginning stages where interaction with other players is pretty much non-existent, I'm looking for encouragement to persist...

Also, I'm assuming that Europa players are on one of the RP PVP servers, but was wondering which one?

There is only one RPPvp server. Its a generation above WoW MMO wise, but all the MMO's out at the moment excepting maybe EVE are "WoW like" if you're looking/waiting for one not like WoW then you're going to be waiting awhile.

Edit: might be more RPPVP on launch I read, Aquilonia is the server name.

There were 3 RP-PVP servers on the list last night, IFRC, plus something called a Culture-PVP server.

Thanks for the Aquilonia name!

And yeah, I's afraid WOW has put its stamp on everything we are likely to see in the next 10 years... bad news for those of us who don't have time to grind.

RP is rarely found at the moment..but thats likely down to the fact theres a leveling race going on by many to get as far ahead as they can before official launch to avoid all the snarl ups in the start zones when Launch hits.

I can see far far more RP possibilities available than there ever was in WoW but alittle too early for me to comment on ingame RP itself.Guess its basically going to be a wait and see then suck it and see time period to see how things pan out.

Cant blame WOW for Grinding, cant think of a single game where you didnt have to grind in one form or the other if you wanted to level (either a skill base of character base)

It wasnt really WOWs skill mechanics that were ground breaking, it was its ease of use in my view.

RP servers...theres only one english "aimed" server, I'm hoping, massively..that more'll come up however as the griefin guilds have hit that one server...and they...are bad. Not only at fighting (generally...they need least 2-3 more than yourself...leveled at least 4-9 levels higher each to beat you) and with their attempts of rp:

"3 vs 1 and u wonder y I run away?!" etc

so...hopefully more servers...less idiots...mebbe...hopefully

Two of the RP-pvp servers are for other laqnguages 9German and French I think). There will be a second English-language rp server, but Aquillonia is the main one.

So far the game is good. I've had two spontanuous rp moments so far, which isnt a lot but not ba given everyones levelling.

Aye, some spontaneous rp for me too, and as nighchill said, people are racing away from the starterareas asap now.. Wow-like, we yeah, in the sense its a fpmmo, same kinda setup with the ui and so on as mmo' s has had the past 5ish years..

But apart from that..
Its the next generation, and with the tools given to us so far in terms of ffa-pvp, citybuilding, sieges etc it has the potential to be the most rp friendly game made so far.. As a player, you can actually influence the world around you! As opposed to wow, where everythign is static..

I kinda love it, so im biased tho

tell me more people! I'm on holiday for 3 weeks so won't be able to start playing until 8th June!

I want more details! Is it stable? how bad is the instancing? has anyone got any pics?

i've been reading loads of the complete chronicles to try and slate my thirst for conan, but it's only making me want to play more!

pretty stable, if you're pc only meets minimum req's you might want to think about upgrading, mine's on the minimum and its unplayable atm :-/

Having a blast so far. Had a few pvp encounters with kill/death ratio being roughly equal I think. Had a guy one level below me pwn me twice, I forgot to use potions. Had one guy attack me despite being much lower levelled and I killed him only for his two friends to get me. I promptly went back and killed all three over them. Also managed to take out a char one level above me.

One downside of FFA pvp is that when taking/handing in quests in the FFA in the main gameworld areas I barely read the dialogue which is a shame as it's pretty good. It's all voice acted in the newbie area of Tortage but not afterwards.

the graphics look incredible! i can't believe that's only on medium settings?!

hmmm.. i'm not sure how my computers going to run it though: 2.1mhz, 2mb ram, 256mg 6800GL.

maybe i should look into over-clocking my processor? haven't a clue about that kind of stuff though.

Hmm.. I think it's pretty safe to say that it's not going to run even decently on minium settings :/
