Great Ideas!

What have been the great ideas you have seen in OTHER guilds that you really admired? PI will kick things off -

Royal Marksmen Uniforms - I really like how the Royal Marksmen had different tones of leather to show the 'experience' of the relevant Marksman. I thought that was a smart idea!

I liked the cloaks of Grd for the cold weather.

GRD pretending to be A^K - That attack on Brigands Of The Fort, I was there, When you arrive I basically screamed in guild chat 'I thought we were fighting GRD!!', Very clever.

Don't let Cal find out! Shh! Everyone..

Embesslement

I liked Charity dinners for downtrodden peasants that netted uber cash.

Almost as much as the cooked books that let Lyim slip through the cracks smelling like a rose!

Maybe not guild organized, but I still liked it...

I thought the Prison Camp that Grd organized was stellar - milling about thinking of escape plans or just the pecking order of the pit, good dynamics!

Bachelor auctions gone awry with incriminating paintings to boot got a nice chuckle out of me too!

ooc: RP1 on Catskills. All the big catskills RP guilds decided to band together on one single guildstone and do away with RoE. I have never seen anything so daring yet revolutionary in all the years RPing in UO. And I admire them because despite all the resistance they have proven that it worked.

ingame: I really love that Vesper has a unique style of player houses most everyone adheres too. That just gives the player part of the town character.

I like that kind of thing too. Don't Strongholt, Stonekeep, New Paws, and perhaps Cove have something similar?

The greatest idea of all time [that isnt SCT related] is the

Black Gate of Nohkmar

Which after all these years still stands and is still as relevant today as the day it was built.

On from the player housing thing, Cove putting snow on the outside portions of their houses during winter (dunno if anyone else does this, though, apart from us)

The only thing I can think of at present is

As a turcopole in KT [ and a total newbie to UO and its lore and IC history] I could never really get my head around why Yew was out of bounds.
As time passed and I learnt ooc the reason,it was always a place i wished to 'see'

Then came the day when there was an 'Open Day' in Yew where Grd's training etc could be witnessed.
We were also invited to take part and try it out for ourselves.

I was really impressed both IC and ooc at both their formations and their smart turn out. Still impresses me to this day and there is nothing I like to witness more than the Grd army lined up and carrying out orders.
Same goes for Vesper ,Cove and A^K too ,they always look so impressive when lined up

Very smart uniforms.

Remember a guild back in 97-99 used to run quests, they had about 15 members, most rpers got envolved in their quests.

Well what i remember best is one time they had to summon a daemon to answer a question. Using explosion potions a gate created from somewhere else and the Daemon coming through it all at the right time. Was a stroke of mastery.

Explosion potions back there were deadly, they set each other off when exploding. Also was no trammel and casting polymorph made you grey.

Vas sanct used to do the Trial of Virtue. Based on the Ultima games, before could become a full member. - I was such a easy pleased person back then.

Indeed, the moot in Britain was very good. Although the old -V-/KMK/LB and friends stories are my favourites.

Not exactly a 'Great Idea' but I remember long, long ago, stumbling upon a colossal Grd vs Everything Else That Moves battle at the Hall of Justice. Jebus, I'd only bought UO earlier that day, and all of a sudden I'm confronted with what must have been 250+ players fighting all over the blood place. Mind boggling. I'd never seen PvP on that scale, or so many Roleplayers in one place.

Tgl were one of those guilds that were just awe inspiring, too. Some of the ideas they had were brilliant. I'll be buggered if I can think of any off the top of my head, though.

And the Judges. Perhaps not brimming with new ideas, but the way they brought the theme of their guild to life was brilliant. They were genuinely menacing.
