I agree - it would be great.

There used to be a Samurai guild, I think they were in CoY, but maybe their membership requirements or rules were a bit tough as they didn't seem to grow very quickly.

A Tokuno guild that was more loosely set up, maybe like the BoC or DoT guilds might work better - give people a choice of where they want to be in it, so to speak.

Finding a housing spot to act as their 'tavern' might be a bit tricky in Tokuno though as it's a tad full up.

Still a grand idea though, as long as it retained the true 'flavour' of Tokuno and didn't become just "westerners in Japan"

Aye getting housing around Zento is very hard and expensive. I had a medium one along that ran along the road that runs around the outside for a while. Theres a few for sale but trying to track down the owners is hard work.

well.. if folks want a place just to use as a base for a tokuno guild, they can use one of our houses there It's right near the moongate on Homare, in front of the Zen Garden. So it's not Zento.. but well...

I can do a quick redesign of the place so it looks a bit more oriental again to fit the needs of such a guild, since atm it looks a bit dutch with a windmill and such...

The house (unfortunately?) is not for sale since we use it for a base to set up new chars, but it's ok to use it if there isn't anywhere else to go. I also have an alt char that would fit better in a tokuno guild than what she is in ..

i believe there was one once, but instead of hanging around in tokuno, they spent their time in trinsic complaining that we were "foreign devils"

Hai, baka joro gaijin.

What happened with TBK/KTD I think was the leadership had burnt out over the years that the guild had existed and found it harder to bring up new things to keep people involved.

Plus being in a city alone you need to have a fair amount of members and be very self-efficient at rp or it turns into the someone logging in for a few mins and seeing no one about so logging off again.

would be nice, unless it becomes another trinsic sitting guild that speaks in the usual weirdo tongue shared by tokuno dwellers elfs and drow alike

KTD certainly didn't. KTD mostly kept to themselves and mostly only ventured outside of Tokuno for battles and hunts. Though membership was nothing to do with CoY rules, as they spent their last months rping with CoRE guilds. Personally I think people just werent interested enough, and were put off a bit by the language.

Languages were something encouraged in CoY, shame some find them so laughable when some people put a lot of effort into learning them. But best not open that old can of worms again.

Well fully using languages for is awsome, its when you take just a few words from a language it gets silly

like just taking "you me he she it is hi bye" then it just looks i dont know a bit giggletastic

I honestly believe that KTD was one of the best guilds on Europa, and thats saying a lot because I had a very big feud with their GM. The old guilds I miss as much as KTD is UD and TCR in their respective heydays.

And to be fair to KTD (re: Language). Many of them were really enthusiastic about Japanese culture and even took trips over there; so although they may not have been the best linguists, at least they put the effort into learning the culture.

If you like 'flavour' in an RP guild, then language is one way of achieving that.

For example, an 'orc' guild that didn't use orcish the way that ShadowClan used to would not feel authentic to me, or to most people that met their members. *chuckles*

Learning a few words of Tokunese wouldn't be a hardship, but in order for the guild to grow it would have to interact more with the other RP guilds. Cutting yourself off (even with an RP basis for doing so) just results in the slow eventual death of the guild. It is a game after all, and people want to have fun.
