8 - Would you like to see a major war on Europa shard?

1) ************* would not; he's trying to fight against war. I would, as it would be great roleplay fodder. But with a big war going on we must respect that non RPers won't have a clue, and be ready to educate the buggers.

2) I liked the orphidian invasion sure, but it was a bother, as for a roleplaying war between the guilds.. I'd like more politics behind it before to see a REAL war, wars don't just happens at random because people are bored, there are usually alot of factors behind them. Peace is a good thing sure, but I think the question you are asking me reveals your state of boredom of peace, I say.. FIRST make politics interesting (************** and others expressed me privately their complete boredom about politics) THEN.. when the political and diplomatical situation goes to a critical point..... war it is... it's not the question of war, or not war, the question is.. make it interesting, or the war will end up feeling pointless to the parts involved and thus, no more war.

6) Havent we had 17 major wars already? Theres no reason to conquer a town, except for rubbing the current rulers nose in it.

7) - Sure, as long as it provides rp for all parties (like the Healers during the recent Minoc war for example)

8) Like we don't have one every other week? What would be a novelty is a major war with actual consequences. Those are rarer than a silver steed.

It would depend how intrigueing the background story to such a war is,
and how focused it will be on PvP. If it's just a "omg they insulted us, let's walk over to **************and fight them" then I don't want to see it. What I would like to see in a war:
- political intrigue, backstabbing, spying. Something that give us people who rather talk than fight also something to do.
- PvP. After all it's a war
- Consequences!!!!! when you lose you lose. You give up the control of your rown to another guild or group of guilds for a pre-determined set of time. For example you can arrange a series of PvP battles. Whoever wins the majority of them, wins the war.
- No stupid "we're back after 30 minutes!!!". RP being injured. RP rebuilding your troops. RP treating your casualties. RP everything that goes on in a real war. It's not just PvP alone!
- Switching alliances. Backstabbing. Make it interesting.

14) NO! If people want to pvp let them do factions. And we have had war after war within the rp community and to be honest they are just a farce......one minute you have ********* warring *********** - the next they are patrolling it. Other such ridiculous situations arise after/before wars also. They also just involve far too much predictable rp - theres little imagination in a war. Or at least from the ones i have seen so far

15) That would be ok I suppose, as long as it was done from the human point of view, rather than loads of politicking. My guild can't join in any fighting, obviously.

18) Not much on major wars. I prefer PvP to be small because it is easier for me to find meaning in why I am fighting. Its more on a personal level.

19) I liked the wars that were set up by the different larger guilds, this could of been developed on a bit more to include other smaller guilds in different ways.

20) A constant state of war, skirmishes, could be a very good thing. Having guilds like ************* constantly in their anti-royalist roles, and making the war part of a continous scenario and not just pvp for pvp sake, I think is needed.

22) If its a PvP event, it might be fun for a while, but not as an ongoing thing. Dragging something out with no conclusion would wind up turning into skirmishes wherever you go, and there's times I really -don't- wish to be ganked for no reason than my guild tag.

23) If for the right rp reasons yes (A storey line behind it that makes sence).. if because the people are bored no.

24) Depends, as most 'major' wars don't really affect me as I reside in **********. Of course I've participated at a few events here and there with other characters in **************** etc... but for once I'd like to be on one of main characters and participate. However I don't see that happening sometime in the future...

30) Only if the war means more civilian drama, politics, negotiations and other things that make for good RP. Running around in forests trying to kill each other may be fun for some who enjoy PvP but leaves little room for roleplay. Maybe more of a cold war type of thing. major war sometimes very useful, involve lot of players and did perfect background to other screenareos.

33) yes, but one that evolves naturally. people should stop using ICQ and start sending messengers IG to gather people, then send war parties organised IC and build defences IC. i suppose allow people to use ICQ to gather town defences quickly if you're under attack. but yes, war is stressful, but if done well it is so good! the wars between ********** and ************* last year were fantastic. surrounded by a slightly stressful undertone, but that's ok. it was fun and just showed that peoplecared.

35) Yes ,conflicts are great for RP and activity for us all, and only idiots belive we are pvp whores for saying it, we love it becuse it gets activity up and its fun to see 50+ people in one area doing what they love most.

51) Not really,. Still, it looks like lots of other people want to be involved and there?ll be plenty of PvP which always attracts people (one of those sad but true things). I hope there?ll be some interesting interaction along the way, other than ************** turning up mob handed every night and slaughtering everyone in sight.

54) Definitely yes. With definite consequences and such. Towns being occupied by foreign soldiers, etc.
