| Had to list me graphics card and operating system as "other" there. No option for 8800 GTS or Vista *sulks*
__________________  Fact: In RPvP, warriors often forgoe Magic Resist in favour of parry or chivalry and then call mages overpowered or dishonorable for using things like Mana Vampire and Paralyze. The Arcanists are not to blame for your decision to be tougher against other warriors at the expense of fighting Mages. | ||||||||

| If it's any consolation, I got the beta invite and eagerly sat with my finger poised over the mouse button for the refreshingly swift 4 hour download time.... "Zip file is corrupt". Damn! Well, I'm not one to take things lying down... lets try again... hmm... 5 hours pass... "Zip file corrupt". Should I try again? Well of course I will, but has anybody else encountered similar problems, or is it just me? | ||||||||

 | I had that exact problem, until I used a download manager/helper program. That sorted it right out, first time. "Free download manager" for instance, something like that.

| Finally managed to get it to work! Oh good lord! Have you seen *EA HAS EDITED THIS POST* it is quite amazing. I love the way *EA WOULD RATHER YOU DID NOT SEE THIS* with a big stick. Life in the trenches is *EA HAS VETTED THIS* ,but the weather is nice. | ||||||||

| Most of the disappointment being expressed by people is because they underestimate how not finished the client is. The beta testers are being used to guide the devs in adding functionality to the client, the way players want it. They're looking for feedback on everything, from big-time bugs to things that it wasn't immediately obvious how to do. Not to say that all disappointment is based on that, but much of what I read is people who were expecting to be able to play with a shiney new client. People complaining that they can't PvP in it, and other such things, have gravely misinterpretted the idea of Beta.

| Send in those bug reports! Even if its not strictly a bug, just something that you think is so horrible it will affect people's gameplay ...especially for us RP folks, send them in! It is the point of a beta afterall... and tbh, some things that aren't 'strictly' bugs in mechanics sense etc are still bugs to other people if they are going to make it hard to continue playing in the sense that we do. (I know we as RP'ers are not the be all and end all of UO to the peeps in charge, but we are still players!)... send them in to the people that can change it, and perhaps they will listen... it is a beta, as 'Kimeh!' said. Lots of things can change between now and the final release of it, we can hope...and pray, and blackmail and bribe!
