As a CoRE Guild leader *shines badge* i'd just like to hear some feedback on what people think of the new Rules of Engagement, what problems people have encountered, what they like, what they hate....etc etc.

Well.. personally.. i havnt seen much change, but i havnt been playing as much lately.. I do however, like the yellow bag idea.

Quivers.. obviously, are sexy...

The whole conflag potion thing got waaaay out of hand.. it was crazy, so limiting those was a great idea. i do think however, the number that each person is allowed to use should be limited too, as if it were real.... which it is.. *twitch*.. they would need a mule to carry them all!

im a bit miffed at the no serpent arrow rule... i was personally considering getting my poisoning up.. but as an archer, thats useless now *humph* so ill stick with a 620 skill set for now.

wow, im pritty much babbling now.. so ill leave it at that. *grins*

Just the same old obvious ruleset rehashed and passed through far too much beurocracy with barely any changes, just to give a fresh bunch of elitist roleplayers that want to play at Elders the chance to pretend they're making a difference to the system?

Whatever. When I notice any actual change or effect of the new system I'll gladly retract this statement.

Personally...I'd like to see some kind of critical opinions, like Jerans, rather than sarcasm.

Ends up with better results whenever a new set of rules are made up, rather than whining about the rules after they get put together and released. People who come up with the rules DO look into aspects, whether RP, PVP or both together. Comments to basically say they dont, kind of is a basic insult to any amount of effort put into. Same as, basically, non-meaningful comments from those who refuse to use the RoE really *shrugs*.

Putting feedback on what people like and dont like, rather than "Just the same old obvious ruleset rehashed and passed through far too much beurocracy with barely any changes", gets results. Not that such comments should not be used, but more detailed views than that, would I'd imagine, help a lot more.

Barely any changes, means because the old ruleset worked just as good. Pushing towards a more unified and accepted ruleset on europa, should be the way forward. With meaning towards getting the bits between whatever rulesets are out there, which are different, edited together so people dont have to learn 101 different sets for 101 different guilds. Simple = easy = more fun.

You miss my point, Samson, which is rather unsurprising. At the end of the day, there are three rules that matter (besides "stay in character") in any ruleset, anything else is just pedantry and tweaking and really makes feck all difference to roleplay.

1. Die? Wear a death robe.
2. Don't try loot, we're not about that.
3. (If you're in CoRE) don't twat someone without warning.

The end. You can wrap it up in all the shiney new ribbons and red-tape you want, it's still the same old stuff. The time spent making new RoE could have been much better used making joint roleplay events to create bonds between CoRE and the rest of the Europa roleplaying community. Bottom line? I don't give a toss WHAT ruleset someone's playing by, frankly there are far too few roleplayers left for me to be picky about who I play with. I see someone roleplaying on ultima online? I'm joining in. See you there.

No doubt you're going to read this, have a cry and waste another ten minutes typing a responce in which you can try and justify your point to the rest of the community. Rah I'm such an un-co-opperative bad guy, yawn, yawn, yawn. But, basically, you know I'm right. The end.

Much as i loathe to say it, here he has a very valid point. I mean there are more active RP guilds outside of CoRE than actually in it now, perhaps work should be addressed to this? But this is for another thread and not here, sorry.

Again i say this through gritted teeth, but Hiromi is right about the RoE, its nothing new. Its the same old ERPA RoE shined up and sent out again. Also i find it strange that two of the biggest and most active RP guilds are not signed up to this, that being GRD and BoC.

But one specific part does confuse me somewhat,

Now my understanding of this rule is this, i can steal or loot from a yellow bag and also take 1000 gold, food and gems from outside the bag. So whats the point in carrying a yellow bag in the first place? I can understand if the extra things are taken if THERE IS NOT a yellow bag present, but why punish someone who is abiding by the rules by allowing extra stuff to be taken from them outside their bag? I mean i may as well leave my yellow bag in the bank now and cut down the weight it takes up

I can appreciate the amount of time it takes to get things like this sorted out on the Gms board having been on there for a long time in the past.

As to the ruleset its a nice expansion to the old existing ones, and i like the small additions that have been tweaked about one slot pets and steeds.

The only hiccup i can see is the more complicated the ruleset the more likely it is people wont follow them.
In the end simple is best then no one has an excuse for not following them or getting confused.

Could someone clarify the 2 hour rule for me? If someone flee's ...using the *flee's* emote or something to that effect, or they just flee combat physically...does the 2 hour rule for not returning still count like in the RoE? Or has it been taken out? Sorry if its been answered or is a stupid question.

If im correct here only certain guilds adopted that rule, with good reason too i might add
