Try reading the whole post, Sineal. I meant nothing negative, and said as much. Substitute "apart" for "aloof" if you like. I had already said that it was NOT about organisations, but individuals, so don't start trying to insinuate that I was dissing CoY, because you know that I wasn't. There were good guilds in all the organisations, and each org had something to offer. However, that's not the point of this thread, so calm down, nobody is having a pop at CoY.

I noted that you claimed to not be saying anything insulting, but the words you chose were implicitly critical. The fact you deny it being a dig doesn't mean it's any less of a dig, just like if someone says "I'm not racist, but..." doesn't mean they're not about to go on and say something Hitler would be proud of. If you'd simply used neutral terms originally, this wouldn't be an issue.

My point is simply that this is primarily a board for old CoREites, and so if you just ask people on here to vote, it's not going to be representative of the whole community.

Erm, no I didn't. I merely pointed out that this wouldn't be very representative given the place it was advertised. You then called CoY 'aloof' as a statement of fact, which is obviously an insult, and proceeded to hide behind a claim that you'd said nothing insulting. Don't throw your rattle out of the pram because you got called up on something mate.

Since you're so focused on keeping on topic now you've had your say, how about this as a suggestion to make it more inclusive? Put up a thread on every guild board, gather nominations from there, then once they're sorted get the votes using the same process only with a poll? Shouldn't be too much hassle to aggregate the nominations/votes, and still not going to be a perfect sample, but will help.

Where have I ever implied I think i'm worthy of mention, or that this is some important issue? I'm not, and it isn't. All i've pointed out is how misrepresentive it would be to base this kind of thing solely on the opinions cited in a couple of cliquey forums. I've also never suggested that you must have a representative poll, only that if you're going for it to have any wide significance it has to be.

Calm down people. Anyone would think i've personally insulted someone by daring to suggest you might want to look further afield than the sheltered communities of f4g and UOforums if you want your poll to have meaning.

Right, on all counts.

It'll be a cold day in hell, when an OOC discussion doesn't end in drama.
It always happens, and it probably always will... And, it usually involves the same people, on the same subject... Over, and over again.

Also, it should be IC.
Firstly, it might avoid some drama. Honestly, if I were Van, I'd be wondering if it's worth doing this, if all it's going to attract is drama and feuding.
Secondly, if the character Van is making it, then he's probably not going to fill the museum with "legends" most people won't have heard of. Or, who's IC contribution is less-than legendary.

I'll echo that. I think a Vesperian "hall of heroes".. thing.. would make a great deal more sense IC. Each guild/bloc/organisation has legends enough to fill it's own museum.

Anyways.. I'd say Emile Lampet could do with some recognition, for "embiggening" the francophone RPers of Europa and promoting common events regardless of the language barrier.
