Why not just pick three figures, one from each "community", CoRe, ERPA and CoY and start with that. We could have a general vote on who is included instead of this thread going down hill fast as it is. Everyone can put forward any names they can think of, they all get added, then get voted on depending on "community" affiliation.

The thread hasn't gone down hill. There was a misunderstanding which seems to have been dropped now. Good points have been raised, and a bucket load of suggestions have been put forth. Not much else the OP could have asked for.

Methinks one thing could do with clearing up, though: Will the Museum be an OOC or IC affair?

Make it IC and have people submit in game books abotu the "legend" of their exploits and adventures IN GAME. Build it up that way =)

Learn to spell "Dedicate" Esca and maybe I will. What I'm doing is starting with the founders of -V-, DOT, Grd, BoC, and LB - as they're the five most active guilds currently. Then every month after that there will be a regional poll IG and the characters who've had the most votes regionally will be put into a forum poll, and that's how it'll happen.

Plus I didn't expect this thread to have such positive feedback so thanks guys, support has been great.

But there are so many different perspectives it'd be almost impossible to come to a general agreement. You just have to decide yourself.

Zaknafein (who took over the running of KT after Orlando left)

There's more, I just want to keep it at that for now.

Van, to make your life easy, you could for instance regroup guilds who's members are recognised by many as legendary - that way you only have 1 monument to build and can dedicate it to the particular people with a 'plaque'. Essentially I think that whilst there were many exceptional people around during all these years, a lot of them only became legendary because of group effort. After all this is an MMORPG and not an RPG with a high-score list.

And I count myself in that as well. Sure Venom d'Orsay was the most prominent member and relic of the old Mugger's Union and Trinsic Shades, but it would not have been half as fun without the help of people like Edmund Ludd (who came up with a lot of the mugging ideas), or Betty Noblood (who created the League of Temperance in UO), or even Nuala Sapphire (Assassin and Lady of the Night).

I also think that in a lot of cases you will have different concepts and views of who is legendary and who isn't depending on where and when people played. It'll never be fair and just - so regrouping people will actually give a bit of recognition to everyone - because everyone deserves it!
