Legends

After a long discussion with that handsome fella' in the mirror, I've decided for my next project, I shall construct a museum! What sort of museum you ask? A museum, of Legends!!

The museum itself will take a good few weeks to be ready for the public, but it'll never be completed. It'll conduct of artifacts from historical events in Britannia, wax-work life sized statues of legendary figures, and much more.

I'm posting here because I need some help. I need to know who -you- people think are legends, people that have made a great influence on the RP community to date. I'm not asking for the NPC legends like Lord British and so forth, I want your opinion on other players around you from past and present who you think deserve a place in the museum. I can't garuntee all will get a spot, but those deserving and more popular choices certainly will.

So, would you kindly reply to this thread a list of people that you personally think would deserve this honour! Also, if you have any RP articfacts that you'd like displayed in the museum, your donation would be grateful, or if you wish to keep it.. a replica can be made.

One thing over the years I have considered very many times and a great debating point.

Defining legendary needs some consideration also – there is a big difference between being a legend and being very good.

Is this legendary IC or OOC – is this about ooc helping the community or influencing the community or IC actions that have become legendary?

With respect – real legends are few and far between and most guilds have one or two at most.

What about criteria? Length of service? Making community events? Being a good arrpeer? Making stories for other players? Running your guild well? Helping the community as a whole? Being the bestest pvvvvppppper?

I know Van wants some good suggestions and it’s a ficking great concept but to introduce a UO – RP Hall Of Fame is a contentious issue.

Hopefully you might see some good debate on this rather than stupid flaming and pointless bickering about x was better than y and all the crappy ooc politics and hug crowd.

I have had a top 10 in my head for some time – will probably release it after they have all left UO =)

But legends should be real legends and not just “very good” they need to encompass a whole range of things not just cover one or two.

Best example I can come up with from the suggestions here and now is Twothumb.

Why? Great GM, did lots for the community, has been around since I was a whelp, listens to ideas, helps people with ideas, helped lead CoRE away from ERPA, kept up relations with Klion and CoY, allowed his “city” to be taken away from him for ooc reasons to help storyline, smacked people down when they needed it, lifted people up when they needed it, Twothumb is Vesper [no offence to current Vesparians intended]. Twothumb is a true legend because of ALL of those things.

I'm hoping for a mixture, although the whole Museum will be IC - explaining to the visitors about the Legend on IC terms and such. So really I'm looking for characters that are of that untouchable status IG, though OOCly they've put alot into their characters and/or guild. And yes, I know it's a tough decision to give someone that title of a "Legend" but personally I'd look at it as one of the greatest rewards from my time RPing, to be known as a Legend.

The desert queen/princess of Nujelm. Probably one of the best role players I ever was lucky enough to interact with on Europa shard. She truely played the haughty royalty to an extreme which I have never come across before or since in any "nobles" in UO. Sadly the Nujelm porject was more or less doomed to failure and after a few months of glittering activity disappeared beneath the seas of Sosaria. [Mainly due to a lot of ooc fallout all over the place at that time]

I have, though I'm curious in who you think deserves to be known as a Legend. Although most mentioned there will more than likely get a mention in the museum.

Personally...mm

Twothumb, both of 'em. Characters did a LOT ingame, player did even more out of game.

Brown Moses, hell of a lot of good, indepth and open storylines, involving a lot of guilds and interaction.

Paladis, didnt seem to do a lot ingame, yet accomplished a lot not only for his own guild, but for opening up a lot of storylines involving lots of guilds, repeatedly. 9 from 10 times, the stuff starting with him would end up having him as the little devil on your shoulder...egging you on, but not getting noticed.

Sweet Agony, Noxin, Wildcat, Duo, Hanse Davion, Chucky, Shadowstar, Mercutio...purely for their PvP ability...and incorporating a lot of RP into it and from their ability solely. Many wars have started and ended through them...many stories and beyond had too. (they aint listed in any order).

Choma, Gorchak, Seriya D'lacey they were always around, yet hardly seemed to be noticed really...even more recognition for the work put into one of the best and more popular tavern nights, the five aces.

Decardo, pain in the neck (sometimes literally

) but always stood onto the same RP context and never moved from it.

Klion D'gar for leading one of the biggests and oldest guilds on the server.

Raistlin....and his stick, complete arse...pain in the neck and annoying...and RP'd having a talking stick superbly. Not too shabby for a finn.

Fizzit Von'Sah...caused so much drama ICly and people took it to the OOC level...was superb.

Callum Fitz...purely for keeping and trying to keep that all gms board good and proper (hopefully..maybe still doing so) as well as producing some of the best storylines going..even more importantly, often supporting others ideas while others stand and mock.

Ikus...the original and best...even better whilst on his guard character drunk and beating others in (its not ale! honest! *hic*)

Kaelyn...never ever before have I seen a guard take so many beatings, in so many different ways, repeatedly...and never ever EVER to my knowledge whined, complained, quit her job ICly and OOCly...she made my last few months many years back...a pure pleasure whilst in Trinsic.

Theres many others...that "could" get mentioned...all the GM's past and present for running their guilds...all the rogues and brigands and guards and armies and peasants..but those above are the ones who've stood out the most for me....whether in the game or out of it. Whether through their actions of running a guild were superb brilliant and beyond belief..while their actions and behaviour outside of the game differed so badly that I felt...was unneeded and not necessary.

Overally...think that all the people who made me smile while playing the game were and are still legends. Even more so if they made others smile too and buggered if listing all those tbh.

I know I am new to this community but with the people I have intergrated with and talked to they have gained my ultimate respect both as a player ooc and as my two ic characters. first up would be Vierna and her sister Faeryl. drow evil to the bone (From a human and none Llothian prospective) but helped me get totally and utterly hooked into rp and getting away from fel.
Next would be Reann, due to the pure pleasure of omg you did not say that and sitting on the edge of my seat awaiting the insult or witty comment that you know is about to come.
Kaelyn, the temporay captain until someone is found that is better but the trouble is can anyone be better in that role? anyone?

Duke Irvyn Middlethorn, Not only doesn't he tell my DoT character that he is strange or odd but from a ooc level as helped me a lot to rp better.

I have got to say it but Van the current baron of Vesper, this is due to the hard work he must have put into the game since I started rping. but it is the frankfulness of him and for a noble you just never quite expect the obsenitity that comes from him.

and lastly but by no means least Adamair Walker and his beautiful lady with a very daring fashion sence Aluarun Kestral, mainly for the pure pleasure of interacting with them ic and the fact that you can never predict what ever of them two will say next, more so Adam the Aluarun.

that's what I think anyway... but then I am new and as some of you might have seen barring the two first names I mentioned the rest come from DoT and of course Van from VTC
