whether you hit or not is something that has plagued dexxers ever since the dawn of UO. it doesn't seem to be a logical probability based on weapon skill. most of the time it seems to be pure luck based on whether you're having a good or bad day, weaponskill is only a minor factor which helps you to have a good day...

same with parry tbh.

Has anyone ever bothered training to 120 ninjitsu? Christ, by far the worst skill to train, even at Blackrock.

And GM weaponskill is fairly outdated nowadays. You can still perform well with it, but it almost seems as if the devs purposely decreased the hit chance with it just to get you to play more to farm some money/scrolls to increase it.

I went from gm, to 110 and finally to 120 archery.

Can't say I have noticed a huge increase. I have days where I cannot miss and I have days where I will go 10 shots and not hit anything. Thats probably good for the world since its kind of difficult to survive 3 crossbow hits, buts annoying from my perspective.

would be nice either they outlined somewhere whats things effect hit chance, or they made it a more simple averaged out, direct, logical probability.

Well the day Kaelith beat me in a duel (not a formal duel, more of an encounter than ended in violence ) I failed to land a single hit on him. Given I had 120 weapon skill, anat and tactics, this was rather galling.

That is true and a perfect example tbh.

tactics and anat are irrelevant to hit chance, but the fact it should have been 50 50 for both of us to hit each other and i hit 3 times in a row and you didn't touch me was kind of stupid.. althgh i'm sure we've encountered each other on different occasions and i've still won

also, i wasn't a parrier back then. i've spent most of my life with a template much the same as yours except only at GM skill level, bar 120 weapon skill and then having that remaining amount in chivalry or magery or something.

Only difficult I ever had in PvP was necro mages, Mages were pretty simplistic if you timed everything right. Explosion, Oh no incoming pot needed.
But i'd survive a mages full out effort with about 40 hp before bandage kicked in, just necro mages can push abit more damage out with pain spike or whatever.
