I think generally people are trying to be supportive here by giving good advice about additional ways of recruiting new members.

In SCT we just bash random newbies over the head - drag them off into the snowy depths of Rhovanian and refuse to release them unless they join us *grins*..............well except those that Callum recruits - his methods sound much more fun !

Play nice kids or write your opinions about each other in the other person's recruitment books.

And being supportive doesn't mean you have to be smiley and caring about everything that appears on the boards.

People are unsupportive of the idea of recruiting books because they think it's a bit, well, shit. But that doesn't mean its a personal slight against your delightful self, nor are they currently rolling ten barrels of gunpowder under the Houses of CoRE to blow our hard-earned community to smithereens.

No Rauls absolutely right right in what he's saying. Stop leaping down his throat for having the balls to say when most of us are thinking.

I'm not talking about his views on recruitment books. I'm talking about the other comment about toys and prams. It doesn't help anyone.

The problem with that is when something is written (like her, or email) it's hard to judge the tone, and it can get taken the wrong way. As they say, only 30% of communication is verbal - the other 70% is tone of voice and body language, none of which you can convey that easily here. So please bear that in mind in future posts. That goes for everyone, not just Raul.

..I wasn't talking about recruitment books. As far as Rauls view on recruitment books goes he's a bit of a cock tbh.

He called me a cock! *gets all emotional*

Thing is i usually add a when im joking to convey it as a joke. But i can see your point and accept no problems Cal. But as me for getting upset, well takes ALOT to make me mad and only a couple of people have even come close to pushing me over the edge here. Even if i do loose it you will hardly ever see it here in public, thats what PM's and ICQ are for in my opinion.

On propaganda

Another possibility of the disappearing pamplets is that they were taken by people that were interested in joining. I've picked them up periodically throughout the years just out of interest. Some people collect books, read books and throw them away, sell books. I would think if a person wanted to role play an elf, yours would be the natural place for him/her to go. I wouldn't worry to much about the disappearing books. Just keep on plugging away with that scribe.

I glance over books now; I've seen so many of them I definitely prefer the 'talk to people' way of recruiting. I'm not sure books help anymore.

The Court, as Cherry says, definitely recruits by talking to people. Odd, considering I have one of the biggest libraries - but I'm sure I'm not stocking anyone's guildbooks there!
