1. Free is good. Hello Cal. *waves*
2. Free, with the added bonus of not having your guilds entire history wiped overnight without warning is also good. Hello Cal *waves*
3. Stability is good. Hello Cal. *more waving*

I know PLENTY of forum-user-types who would LOVE to be in the position to pay for x,y,z and quite simply, are not. So when it comes to light that someone is offering out of what looks to me to be the kindness of their soul and their genuine interest in benefiting the rp community as a whole, I feel very incined to wave at them. *waves again, for emphasis*

What was that phrase about gift horses and mouths?

All that is said about f4g move to Jolt and its benfits is true in regards to what UOForums also gives.

It also gives the benefit of free visits from uo players of other shards, and we wont be isolating ourself from the rest of the UO players, but rather be part in a bigger community of fellow players.
I would say its a major benefit to get that for free.

It is an official UO messageboard for UO and it is worth a bucketload in my view.
It will be a new fresh start that many now feel they need and want and perhaps will help in kicking us all in into being more of a community again.

Those are the big things that makes me favour UOForums over the other choice , but there is plenty of other reasons also.

So yes, ya all sit and say "I dont wanna leave f4g becuse ive been here for ages"
Well so have I, but this is a fresh clean start and we should see it like that and then weight good and bad against eachother and see whats best for us.

I have done so all weekend and it always comes up that UOforums offer more then a f4g move to Jolt will do.

If someone can convince me that this is not the case , but that f4g on Jolt is better, then great.. but sofar nobody have.

If f4g goes onto the Jolt servers, I'll move over with em as an admin (if you actually want me to that is) and pretty sure that the other admins will also (cannot actually speak for them).

As rangnarigs said, if you've actually trusted 100%ly for a piece of hardware to keep your work safe. Amount of HD failures and CD's scratched, alongside with Floppy discs dieing, in my case alone, plus experience of others, you should never trust hardware to keep your important documents safe and backed up.

As said though, IF F4G moves, I'll stay on as Admin, whether all members move to UOForums, whether a few do, or whether they do and come back.

As regards to deflamatory remarks to other members who use the forums, can arrange for the foot to come down hard upon them if needs be. Isnt that hard. Seperated myself from the Mods of the boards now also, so it'd be an Admin warning, instead of a Mod.

Also a point against f4g....

I get ridiculed when friends see my internet history as the website looks like 'fag'.

UOForums would put a end to this, as f4g when said, equals fag.

Not homophobic or anything, but i dont want people to think i am one.

Bet some of your best friends are homosexuals, eh?

EDIT: just wanted to add that I'm not homosexual, but my boyfriend is - he is soooo queer. Sheesh.

I know what you mean. I've got nothing against them, but when I see one of them I feel quite sick :\

From what i can gather from these posts here, people are infact in favour of UO Forums. I guess it all comes down to the polls or whatever now the CoRE GM's and Independents hold on there respective GM forums.

Myself from what i have seen of the UOforums and what i have read about Jolt i would have to say i would go for UOforums.

The benefit of being part of a bigger forum that represents different shards and different player groups is a nice one. Both as Rangarig said run the same software so the main difference is a little bit of speed which really doesnt matter.

I am for UOFORUMS

Well having looked at UO Forums over the weekend I have to agree with Twothumbs and can see the potential that being amongst a wider UO community can bring. I for one when I Gmed KoV remember talking with new recruits outside the rp world who had never heard of CoRE and who had no idea where we all lurked on F4G....so perhaps bringing our community to a wider audience can only benefit us.

I also see that there is a great deal of stability there with the servers etc and having spent a good few hours retrieving lost stories I wouldnt wish to have to do that again (needless to say I have backed all mine up in word now), but new stories will arise and I dont want to have to keep thinking of what might happen to them.

As for the issue of being self governing/moderating or whatever. Well I actually can see the benefit of having external and indepedent moderators who can arbitrate on issues without being clouded by in game or OOC friendships. The UO Forums seem very polite and friendly with no rudeness there - surely as a community that is what we would all wish for. If people really want to be rude and vulgar then let them do it on a private forum at their GMs discretion.

My thanks go out to Marty and all those who have made F4G a success for us in the past.....but this can be a new start for our community - lets make it a fresh one with bigger and better potential and hopefully see more people joining in the rp who may otherwise not have known we existed.
