There is clear benefits from being there that f4g cant offer , THATS why i want to be there.

F4G;

Total control and old admins and mods to watch over us like before.
Old members will find the site if they look for f4g.net.


UOFORUMS;

Access to new players from all shards since we would be part of a bigger community of UO players.
Offical UO boards which means that Devs are posting and care more about it then other places thus more influence for us.


Im sure there is more points but these seems to be the biggest ones.

About 30 seconds ago, I got a request for a forum to be made and put up. Its done. Not because I wanted to put this point up, because I was around and could do.

Admins, you know them.

People know this address.
People from other shards DID/DO come to this forum still.

Points against F4G:

People have this thought that the posters are bad and insulting. (Yet..they still post here).
People have the idea that its negative posting here. (Yet they still post here).
Devs apparently dont read these forums (Yet, AFAIK, the EM did/does read these forums?)

For UOForums:

Its friendly.
Its big.
Its got other shard communities on it.

Against:

Its big.
Its "too friendly" majority of the old posts placed and left upon the old forums here, would more than likely see a ban or a heavy warning placed upon the posters.

We could have that at Stratics and, as I've said before, it was utterly crap there and I was totally relieved when my GM finally moved us out of it. In fact, 2 guilds I was in moved out of Stratics because of the moderation and posting restrictions of the 'official' site.

I'm a grown up, I don't want a big list of banned topics and heavy moderation just so I can kiss some dev backside. At UOS, criticism is bad, mmmkay? Won't be any different at UOF.

You want to advertise CoRE? Stick it in your bloody Stratics or UOF sig with a link to F4G - how hard is that?

Finaly we got a discussion going , apart from Rabin whom seem to belive im his enemy and a child who cant handle the hard climate here on these forums.

The same could happen on UOforum. The Samson equivalent of the UOforum crew could get a request for a forum to be made and put up. It's done. Not because he wanted to put this point up, because....hey you know the rest.

The same could be true for any forum with a dedicated staff and I doubt the UOforum staff is any less dedicated than our own admins/mods. And of course, there's time when they aren't available - just like our own admins/mods. If it weren't comparable in standards and functionality to f4g twothumb wouldn't have brought that place up as alternative to discuss.

Hardly an argument for or against imho.
