There's a cable problem in my area ... I have no proper internet at the moment and the Blueyonder help desk, though trying to be as helpful as they can, can't give me a time for repair (not that I really expected one). All they would say just now was that they should have it fixed within 24 hours, but if not, it'll probably be after Christmas *twitches slightly* I'm dialled into the work internet at the moment and using it for this illegal purpose, although I did need to check my e-mails as well so it's not entirely illegitimate.

So just in case I don't get back online in the next day or so, have a great Christmas all of you

I'm sure they programme things to go pear-shaped at Christmas. Our central heating system that serves the entire apartment building has been dead since yesterday lunchtime, and my shower is on the blink too. My car decided to give up the ghost last week, the engine and the gear box killed themselves in an apparent suicide pact. So I'm keeping quiet about the broadband for fear of tempting fate!
