A few rules:

- No babble on this thread, all babble will be removed.
- If your char got neon hair or a badly non-RP type name (such as InStAkiLLa), or an unsuitable name (such as Evil Bob) forget even trying to sign them up.
- If you have more than 2 gm on a char .. you must normally be a known roleplayer to join the Duchy.
- DOT will not accept necromancers or poisoners except in very exceptional circumstances (such as quest characters), and only at the discretion of the GM/AGMs. You should also note that use of Chivalry in RP PvP is restricted to the Paladin section and new recruits will not be able to use it immediately.
- All characters should have neutral or positive karma or be prepared to raise it from negative to neutral/positive immediately after joining.

Once the application is made:

You will be contacted shortly by the GM or AGM. There will be an OOC interview (you may already have been speaking to us anyway in which case this requirement will be waived), and an IC interview, which will vary depending on the character. If accepted you will be asked to swear an IC oath of loyalty to the Duke before being added to the stone.

Virtually all new members will start as recruits. You may have held high position in another guild, but that doesn't mean you will necessarily get the same position in the Duchy. However alts of existing Duchy members may not have to go through being a recruit, and returning members can have their old title back straight away.

The application and recruitment process will take several days - this is deliberate. However, if you feel we are keeping you waiting too long, please contact one of us ... we are all very busy people and don't always do things as quickly as we should!

RP experience : Nearing five years of RP on various shards. AGM of DCL [Vie Zorashad]. Rookie Waywatcher of Grd [Te'ani Lanoor]. An Elite [second-highest ranking member - below only the GM] of a guild on Catskills, S^S [Ariana Velve].

PvP experience : Was a spy/assassin for a guild on Catskills. Am a member of Grd, participating mostly in the Minoc campaign battles. Not much else - I'm not very good at it and don't enjoy it.

Character background : Katyana knows nothing of her past except what she has been told by others. She was born into slavery through the bond of a noble woman and a drow, and left in the forest to die so no one's honor would be scarred. Rather than dying, the baby was taken into the house of a drow male slave-trader who trained her up to be the perfect specimen: Not a morsel of food touched her lips, not a stitch of cloth touched her body, not a moment's rest met her mind, without his order being given for it.

She wasn't sold until she was nearly eighteen, and then it was for a price double what had been asked. Katyana's new master took her for the steady price of fifty-thousand coins. She was kept for only a short time in Vesper before being given permission to move to Trinsic and strike up a life there, returning to Vesper very often for gold and to give the information she had gathered. It didn't take long after meeting many in Trinsic to spark a want for the freedom they all enjoyed, and now the half-drow seeks any way to break away from the servitude she has known all her life while still hiding her secret from those she cares for.

James has always been a man searching for great adventure and something to do, passing between the lands of sosoria he has homed in on his combat skill as well as his ability to sneal unheard.
After serving time in the covian army as a loyalist spy he left and retired as a merc for the guardsmen of yew after several counts of assult and robbery on guardsmen and yewish churchmen,after being caught he faked his death by stabbing himself with a blade coated in speical poison,later he returned to cove to continue a reign of thefts and then quit after boring of the rebel life.
After thinking to himself he decied Trinsic was a quiet place in need of some guards and so he set off'........

Character Background:
Machika was born in Zento, unfortunatly she was born first and her parents couldn't have another child due to complications during the birth. Her Mother and Father was happy that she was born but it caused problems with the rest of the Shimizu Clan. Due to her father being the hair to the clan he had to produce a male hair for the clan. Never the less he trainned her in the arts and ways of the Samuria. She progressed well and by the age of 5 she was allowed to finially pick a bladed weapon instead of the wooden weapon she used in trainning, she chose the wassaki because it was a small bladed weapon and could be hid easily within her kimodo and skilled in it she was.

Then something that was to change her for the rest of her life all her clan was wiped out by a rivial clan and only she made it out of the battle alive. They dismissed her because she was a women but her identity was revealed and they banished her from Zento and the Tokuno Islands, if she is to step foot on the islands then she will face a dishonourable death. Keeping what honour she had she went to the facet of trammel and worked a living of monster slaying and warrior for hire. After years of this she has yet to step foot on the Tokuno Islands even though that her dreams take her to the wastes where she trainned has a youth, the Fan Dancer Dojo where she took a detachment of Samuria to help find an object and all the other adventures that she had. So now at 19 years of age she has decided to join the Duchy of Trinsic Guards.

Rak'suun Xuunrae was the lesser son of a minor drow House. For a century and a half he struggled to survive in Menzoberranzaan, by finally left, disgusted by his fellow Drow's bloodthirst and unrelenting worship of Lloth, a goddess Rak'suun hates with all his might. Indeed, if he had half a chance, he would put all Llothites to the sword and smile while doing so. After coming to the surface with a handful of other Drow who, like him, yearned for something more beyond the ceaseless infighting of their city, he wandered about for years, slowly becoming acclimated to the sun and learning to speak common. He has found Trinsic to be the most accepting city in Britannia, and one that he would be proud to defend. Relying on his natural drow talents for stealth and secrecy, he wants nothing more than to serve the people of Trinsic-his only friends-as best he can.

Character background Yukiko was the only child of the samurai Kuto-sama and his wife Chiyome. It was descided that Yukiko should learn to become a warrior in Britannia. So she left and got accepted into the Royal marksmen. After a while she finds out that her mother is also in Britannia working as a guard. And shortly after she recieves news that her father has been assassinated. Now she only had her mother, and she wanted to protect her, but had to fulfill the training as her father had wished.

Then came the say when she was asked to lead the combat trainings of the Royal marksmen, and she then knew her training was finally finnished, and she told her now retired captain Devante she was leaving. And he wished her good luck. So she set out to go and join her mother as guard in the city of Trinsic.

Character background: John grew up in a small village deep in the Yew woods, there he became a fair swordsman and tactician. He didn't venture into the populated cities until his early twenties when his village was destroyed by a rival clan. After the massacre John lived in britian and spent most of his time drinking and chasing after the young ladies in the local taverns. After drinking away what money john had he then vowed to regain the proficiancy with the blade he once had mastered, so he decided to find a new home where he could put his tallent to work.

Elrohir was borned in the outskirts of Skara Brae island. His parents were hard workers but he allways had a dream, to become a defender of the virtues like his brother. He left Skara Brae to search for his brother who was either lost of killed during a crusade against Lord Blackthorns minions. So he ended up in Trinsic, given up the search and looking for a labor within the guards ranks so he can provide himself with shelter and food on the table.

Character background:
Jonas had been moving around Sosaria, living a traveller's life. Living mostly in
inns and brothels. He worked, to earns some gold, as a messenger, a courier
and sometimes even as a mule. Some time ago, he thought to himself, that he must find a decent job in a city. After searching and deciding for 3 months, he ends up in Trinsic. He is sure that he can aid The Duchy in some way.

Character background
Kimi is a Kitsune, a magical fox from the Tokuno islands.
She was born a Bake Kitsune, in the forests of Homare-jima, and lived her life the only way she knew how. For at least one-hundred years, she survived on her own. hunting her own food, and defending herself against perceived threats, including any humans that ventured too close.
While she was lying in wait, for a fish to swim by close enough, by the side of a pond, she was attacked by a Gaman. She didn't have much oppurtunity to put up a fight,
and the last thing she remembers before losing conciousness is the sound of her own bones cracking.
When she awoke, she was in unfamiliar surroundings. Her wounds had been bandaged, and the pain was almost gone. A human had found her lying injured, and taken her back to be tended by his daughter, who had a way with animals.
As her strength returned over time, her fondness for the humans grew, and when she was finally well enough to leave, she chose not to.
She learned a lot during the years that followed, and when it came time for the daughter to leave the family home, to maintain a shrine in a distant land, Kimi leapt at the chance to travel with her.
Once at the shrine, however, she quickly grew bored. There were no significant threats that she needed to protect the daughter against, and all that remained were the shrine duties. The duties did little to occupy her mind, and she began to dwell on the memories from her past.
In an effort to keep Kimi's mind occupied, the daughter not only arranged for Kimi to receive some teaching of the healing arts, but also allowed her to explore the land when her studies and duties were finished. This proved to be a positive step, since Kimi's mood improved, and she found that she could put the skills she was learning into practice on her travels.

The troubles in Trinsic, involving the crater, drew Kimi to the city. There was certainly a need for a healer, and while they needed her, perhaps they would not think her any more a monster than she did herself. Indeed, she seemed well received, and again, she grew quite attached to the people.

Lothalann was born and raised on a small farm sted not far from skara brea, his farther once a solider in lord british's army who had left the force to live a more quiet life once he had heard of his wifes pregnancy would tell lothalann and his younger brother stories of campaigns from his army days, this filled loth with a sence of adventure and not long after his 17th birthday he set off to find his own way in the world, this however didn't go to well, 6 months after leaving home he found himself hungry and pennyless in the town of haven. it was here that he met a small woman by the name of gwyn. she fed him and told him of an acadamy where people were trained in the virtues. he joined up and took to his studies, excelling in swordplay and soon became a full member of the acadamy where he stayed untill there was a great split in the leading council and the acadamy closed. upon the split he joined one of the groups that split off from the acadamy, and order called the renagades of virtue who swore to uphold the virtues by any means. he spent several years the renagades untill he left to find his brother, another member of his order who had disapeared off into the wilderness for more than a year, fearing the worst lothalann spent a long time searching for his brother eventually finding him in Zento alive well and happy, this done lothalann headed back to trinsic to find his old order. upon getting there however he found the order disbanded.
