Yukiko

(OOC: Sadly the original story got lost in the forum crash. Only the last post got saved. I will write a short recap of what happened before the last post, and then carry on from there.)

Yukiko grew up as the only child of the samurai Kuto and his wife Chiyome. Kuto early on descided that Yukiko should be trained up to become a samurai aswell, and carry on the familly tradition. The familly's first encounter with "western" people was a knight that was exploring the tokunian islands. Kuto was intrigued by the strange ideals that the knight followed, and the power they seemed to grant him.

When Yukiko grew older she was sent off to learn the ways of the warriors in the strange lands that the knight had come from. Hopefully it would also teach her to become a bit more humble. When she was ready she was to return to Tokuno to finnish her training to become a samurai. Only when she was a full samurai would she be allowed to carry the swords. So she chose to learn to fight with a bow, and joined the Royal Marksmen.

Soon she found out that her mother also had been sent to these strange lands. Finally she found her and they had a long talk. And our story continues after that

It was so wonderful to see you again father. To finally come home and visit you. To be back in my own contry. Not being a stranger anymore. How I loved to get to ride my horse again. And you finally thought I was ready to try the sword. The moment I have been waiting for so long. The time when you felt I was ready to learn the weapon of the samurai. I think you were surprised at how fast I learnt how to use it. You didn't say anything, but I could see it in your eyes, that you were proud of me. It was such a lovely moment, to stand there on the meadow with you. Father and daughter.

Then the air suddenly felt more moist, it got darker, your features started to blur. I could suddenly feel the smell of the marksmen's barracks... "Noo! It can't be a dream, please let me stay with you father" I thought, but you slipped away from me again.

I am here in this damp place again. Still a stranger in a strange land. I met mother. She told me about what had happened. Tried her best to explain to me, the things I didn't want to understand. She told me how you had known that your life was in danger, and that this would mean that we were in danger too.
You sent me here not only to learn the ways of the west, but also to keep me out of range from your enemies. Then you sent mother away too, but to a different place. I guess you thought we would be harder to find that way. Father, don't you know your women at all? Could you not forsee that we would find eachother me and mother?

Did you let your emotions cloud your judgement this time, when the people you needed to keep safe was your familly? Has you plan to keep us out of reach from the man that is your enemy worked. The dishonorable man that won't let anything stop him, the man that sends ninjas in the night, the man ... that had you killed.

Oh father, how can you be dead? How could you leave us like this?
We are alive, but are we safe?
