Suddenly my diary got very full I won't be around today like I said I would be, I'm going to see Die Hard 4 with some friends from work and won't be home until very late. Next few days as follows:

Wednesday 18th here
Thursday 19th going for an Indian with some other friends
Friday 20th here
Saturday 21st going with family to an outdoor performance of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. (Unless it pours with rain, in which case the plan is apparently to go for a pizza instead.)
Sunday 22nd here (can't miss the carnival!)
Monday 23rd away as usual for work
Tuesday 24th going with family to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

After that things should return to their boring normality and I shall creep back to my computer with a sigh of relief

I don't want to see Transformers

For anyone else thinking of going to see Die Hard 4, it's great, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The plot is silly and wildly implausible, and pretty much everything that happens is either ridiculous, impossible, or both, but who cares? This is a Die Hard film - there's no point expecting great art, complex and believable storytelling, or deep moral philosophy. It doesn't take itself seriously, just has a jolly good time blowing lots of things up spectacularly and disposing of all the baddies in various inventive ways, whilst naturally ensuring that, once again, John McClane saves the day when no-one else can. IMHO this a very worthy addition to the Die Hard franchise Oh, and Bruce doesn't get to wear a vest, but still manages to be sexy through the usual blood and grime.

I saw Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix yesterday. (Just after finishing the Deathly Hallows book, which rocks btw!)

I enjoyed it - very cool special effects, and even if Daniel Radcliffe is starting to look weird, the story was a bit crammed together due to 950 pages pressed into 2 hours, it was unbelievably well done.

Dolores Umbridge is extremely annoying.
