If there is one thing different cultures have in common, it is the roots of the warrior class. Warriors were the men and women that protected the ideals of their kinship. They were willing to protect their way of life by fighting for it, if necessary. Simply put: to love "life" enough to be willing to sacrifice your own for it.

History and countless cultures have had many definitions of "warrior," but the common thread is "Truth," "Strength," "Duty," and "Honor." All through time, there have been those who stood quietly in the background, rising up when called upon by their people to defend and to secure peace. Modern warriors included; soldiers, guards, knights law enforcers, , etc. All of our modern day heroes. It was no different in ancient times; those warriors were looked up to and respected. Why? If you have ever been rescued by one of these heroes, then you know why. It is a profound and instinctual gratitude for their willingness to "do the right thing," no matter what the cost to them. A Warrior stands up for those who cannot stand for themselves, fights for those who are helpless, and does so with temperance, restraint, and wisdom.

To become someone who follows the path of the Spiritual Warrior and to be someone who others can assemble with, train with, someone who offers protection and support and who teaches others the Silver Warrior Path.

A Spiritual Warrior?

Spiritual: manifesting and radiating harmony of body, mind and spirit and constantly improving on it.

Warrior: a person that is not adverse to struggle and has learnt that effort, the application of vigor and fight are enjoyable and a part of our nature. To be a true spiritualist one must fight all kinds of distractions, personal weaknesses, fear and lethargy. Hence, inner peace is a result of sometimes intense struggle. Living life with intensity and purpose is leading the life of a "warrior" but to be a "warrior" does not necessarily implicate waging a "war".

A spiritual warrior: someone who pursues spirituality with a certain amount of vigor and determination. We are neither a spiritualist nor a warrior without taking the attitude that we are "in training" at any level. The "in-training" humbleness is an essential trait of a true aspirant as well as the master and teacher. Destroying life and property in the name of religion is the utmost height of foolishness history has witnessed and has nothing to do with spirituality nor warriorship.

The Code of the Silver Warrior

The following is the code of the Silver Warrior. Reading the Silver Warrior's Code will give you a general idea of the qualities and morals of a Silver warrior.

Brother (Sister) to Brother (Sister) in life and death sworn to each other from this day forward?

In all that you do, consider its benefit or harm upon yourself, your children and your people.

All that which you do will return to you, sooner or later, good or ill. Thus always strive to be just in your actions.

Be honest with yourself and others. "This above all: to thine own self be true."

Elfkind, and especially your own family and kin, has the spark of divinity within it. Protect and nurture that spark.

Give your word sparingly, and adhere to it like iron.

Your first trust and responsibility should be to your own people, yet be kind and proper to others whenever possible.

What you have, hold.

Pass onto others only those words you have verified personally.

Be honest with others and let it be known that you expect the same.

The fury of the moment plays folly with the truth; to keep ones head is a virtue.

Know which battles should be fought and which to be avoided. Know when to break off a conflict, for there are times when the minions of chaos are simply too strong or when fate is unavoidable.

When you gain power, use it well and wisely.

Courage and Honor endure forever. Their echoes remain when the mountains have crumbled to the sea.

Pledge your friendship and services to those who are worthy. Strengthen others of your people and they will strengthen you.

Love and care for your family and have the fierceness of a wolf for their protection.

Honor yourself, have pride, do your best, and forgive yourself when you must.

Try always to be above reproach in the eyes of the world.

Silver Warriors should always endeavor to settle any differences among themselves quietly and peacefully.

The laws of the land should be obeyed, for in the main they have been chosen with wisdom.

Have pride in your family and folk for they are your future.

Every Silver Warrior should work accordingly to be the best her or she can be, thus they must help each other.

One advances individually and collectively only by living in harmony with the natural order of the world.

The seeking of Wisdom is a high virtue. Love of Truth, Honor, Courage, and Loyalty are the hallmarks of the noble soul.

Be prepared for whatever the future brings.

Life with all its joys, struggles, and ambiguities is to be embraced and lived to the fullest.
