Proclamation!


Due to the attack of Yew on the Duchy of Trinsic there is now war between the two lands.

Because of this the Duchy will pay a bounty of 2000 gold for every Yewian that is beaten up. For confirmation to the beating up of a Yewian guard, bring the badge of the guardsmen you have beaten up to Captain Kaelyn of the Duchy Guards.

Also any Yewian milita on Duchy lands is to be considered an outlaw and may be freely attacked and thrown off the lands or to do whatever you see fit.

Hector Foxberg mumbled to himself as he read the poster on a wall in Trinsic. Ah, so even the Duchy seems to lay down their noble beliefs of honour if it gains them success and pride, he thought to himself. What is worse? he asked himself as he wandered off to the tavern: Hiring brigands or paying mercenaries? He took a firm grip around the ankh hanging from a simple string around his neck.

Irvyn read Kaelyn's public notice with mixed approval for her prompt and decisive actions, and regret that he had had to authorise such a thing. Also regret at what Klion's insane aggression would mean for the people of Trinsic and Yew.

Later, he was also informed of the notice which Klion had issued, which he read with incredulity. How much more selective could a memory be? Trinsic had never declared war on Yew. Klion himself had declared war on Trinsic years ago, and refused even to countenance any overture of peace. Apart from a few publicly staged confrontations at which he made impossible and ridiculous demands clearly calculated to keep the war going, interspersed with these occasional acts of unprovoked aggression, he had rejected any contact. Well... perhaps he might one day see the error of his ways, but it would not be this day, nor until there had been much suffering and bloodshed on both sides.
