Hedlyn gripped his digits around the yew-wood mallet and nailed the last of the parchments to a weathered looking post. Casually rubbing at his cheek, he stared at the Vesper Town Hall opposite and tossed the mallet idly to the ground. That was Vesper, Trinsic, Yew and Cove covered, plenty for today. A small gathering of citizens had drawn together behind him, curiously squinting over his shoulder as he’d gotten to work with the small hammer. Nodding politely to them, Hedlyn wandered off towards town, leaving the handful of serfs staring at a neatly scribed scroll…

MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS!

War is inescapably upon us all, no matter our politics, our towns are being drawn into another conflict of ‘Noble’ cause. Unsatisfied with a quiet life, two behemoths of the royal court have rallied you, their people, for a large and bloody game of chess to muse them this cold, Avatarmas-season. Your enemy is not the footmen of the Yewish militia!
Your enemy is not the soldier of the Duchy guard!
Your enemy is not even the men and women of Kaldor!
These honest souls are your comrades and brethren, my brothers and sisters!

Our enemies are the merchants of spin and propaganda that fill our notice boards, our streets and our Poste! The whips of the manipulative Duke Irvyn will have you believe your brothers and sisters in Yew are zealotous plebeians and barbarians! And no more innocent are the deceptive and impious words of the wretched Lord D’Gar who paint your Trinsician comrades as demon-loving heathens and hedonist swines! Take heed of their games, children of our continent, and distrust their lies! Disbelieve the pamphlets of Trinsic! Distrust the posters of Yew! De-value the corrupt words of the Morning Poste! Question even this very parchment, though it contains no lies my honest brethren!

Let no lie push you, the free people, into conflict this Avatarmas-season! I have drunk ale with the Guardsmen of Yew, I have shared whiskey with the free men of Vesper and Trinsic and I have raised my glass even to the men of Kaldor! Demons were none of these!

Raise your hammer, raise your scythe and raise your fist! The people of our land are free to choose their fate, let no propaganda shackle you!
