Post A report on a secret meeting

A report taken from a Grandmaster's Journal

We all met as requested at the moongate. I was slightly away from the group, quelling a few serpents that came slithering by to see whether a free meal was for the taking. As I rejoined the others a missing person was being discussed. Asking who it was, I was informed Devante from the Royal Marksmen had not been seen since the previous evening. I remembered greeting him then and pondered what could have happened, as he had seemed fine.

Somehow the discussion became heated and I sighed to myself ,hoping this was not an indication of
how the evening would progress.

The Duke opened a portal and we arrived at our destination for the meeting. The Duke explained his choice of venue as it was extremely hard to access.

It reminded me of the discussion during the meeting in Skara on Monday, and I wondered how many 'secret rooms' or 'hard to access places' their actually were around Trinsic.
Apologising for his absence the night before thanks to a poison elemental, he informed us he had stuck to the reapers this evening.

The Duke then opened the meeting by thanking us all for coming, and stating the reason he had called us together.

"I have asked ye all here because I believe we have a common problem. That being Yew's desire to dominate everything and throw us all into a state of war, whether we like it or not. Do any of the others of you wish to express an opinion?"

Many of us agreed with what was said adding our own comments.

The Duke looked along the table at Baron Twothumb as he had been very quiet.

The baron responded grumpily that he had already been told to 'shut up' and 'all he cared about what was in his bank vaults. So he had nothing to say at that time.
He also complained repeatedly about folk being present who, just weeks before, fought alongside Yew in attacking the North.
Yet now he was expected to sit all friendly with them at a meeting and speak his views of Klion ?.

I had to agree. He was still a Baron, and having barmaids and archers speaking down to him was rude.

However these things would have to be put aside if we were to reach a sensible way of working together for the cause.

"The're all criminals," Twothumb snarled

"Criminals or not," said Aradius Lancra, "I'm sure they are pretty handy with a blade...and therefore...useful."

"That don't make them any less criminal" the Baron said.

The arguments went on and on,some saying little others making long winded speeches.

Nothing was really resolved apart from a general consensus that we needed to work together, but not necessarily alongside each other in stopping the 'Lord Protector' from taking what he wanted, when he wanted.

The evening concluded, and another meeting was placed on the agenda to continue the discussions.
