I have noticed with grave concern that you have aligned yourself with the Kaldorians, enemies of the Kingdom which we have both sworn to defend. I cannot help but feel your decision is based on a misunderstanding of what Yew is hoping to achieve in this conflict, and I write to you in the hope I can remedy this matter.

The Guardsmen Militia has no ambition to occupy Trinsic, or any of it's lands for that matter. Nor have we came to Trinsic in pursuit of the Elves to which you profess such loyalty. Our goal is simply to deliver to justice the Kaldorians who have taken up residence in what is a Britannian City.

The Duke has been corrupted by their influence, why else would he align himself with our enemies? The only sensible course of action is to remove the Duke from power and install a council of leading Citizens to rule in his stead.

I understand you are a man of honour and cannot betray your oath to defend the Elven Quarter, and I would not ask you to do so. I only request that you disengage yourself from the defense of the Duke so we might escape further bloodshed between our forces.

Sadly I had to learn the hard way that the Kaldorians are not the enemies of Britannia. The enemies of Britannia are those who disrupt the peace of the Kingdom and those that have plunged it into civil war.

You are right though, I am a man of honour, and have sworn to protect Britannia. This includes South Britannia and those that inhabit it, our duty is to defend this Kingdom against any and all who would attack it.

The Duke, although we have never seen eye to eye, is an honest man who does what is in the best interests of Trinsic and wishes only for peace. The Kaldorians are no longer a threat to Trinsic nor Britannia, as their army has been weakened due to countless failed campaigns. You claim your goal is simply to remove the Kaldorians, and yet you persist in killing more Britannians than Kaldorians to achieve this goal.

Trinsic and her allies are fighting two wars, we have the Brigands inside the city and we have you and your Guardsmen on the outside, killing all who dare use the moongate, and your waywatchers constantly spreading fear and terror with their random and unprovoked attacks on Trinsic?s citizens. If anyone should be removed from power it should be the D'Gars, then maybe Britannia can concentrate on its real enemies, rather than having to fend off attacks from its own people.

I urge you to discontinue your campaign of violence against Trinsic and the Kaldorians. It is a pointless endeavour that will not succeed, despite your clever propoganda. You will achieve nothing except more hatred and contempt for Yew and all Royalists, but more so for yourself and your family.

The Royal Marksmen Regiment's objective will remain to defend Trinsic and the lands of South Britannia and if necessary bring down the house of D'Gar.

I had heard rumours that you had been injured, however I did not realise that it was your integrity that was wounded so greviously. How can you possibly justify your defending a Duke whom is well known to have supplied the Rebels in the North. How can you possibly explain to the citizens of Minoc that you are now serving alongside the Kaldorians and Covians who invaded their homes?

Your suggestion that I have disrupted the peace of the Kingdom makes even less sense. Surely the Kingdoms peace was disrupted the moment Minoc was invaded? If you acknowledge this fact - which by your attendance in the defence of said City implies you must - then you must also accept that my pursuit of our mutual enemies the Kaldorians is merely a continuation of said conflict.

I look forward to discovering how you will manage to dispute this irrefutable logic Captain Devante.

I am most concerned to hear of your correspondence with Captain Stirling at this time. Not only is he still recovering from his ordeal at the hands of brigands, he is also temporarily relieved of duty, as you should know by reading the regular communiqu?s from Britain. As Acting Captain of the Royal Marksmen Regiment, it troubles me that you flout higher authority than either of us by trying coercion on a man currently on sick leave, rather than contacting the Regiment through official channels. Such communication would have landed on my desk, and been responded to both promptly, and by appropriate means. In addition, your lack of respect towards Captain Stirling during his recovery and leave of absence also gives me cause to severely doubt your personal integrity, if not your very nobility itself. I can only hope you will renew the Kingdom’s faith in you as a Noble of the Realm by tendering a formal apology to Captain Stirling with all due haste and ensuring you use official channels of communication in the future.

I have been entrusted by the powers that be to act in Captain Stirling's stead while he is on extended leave of absence. Those are my duties as stated by the Council. I am therefore acting in the best interests of a member of the Regiment in this matter, as my current rank gives me the authority, not to mention the duty to do so. If you do not trust the powers that be to make decisions regarding the leadership of one of their own regiments, then you are no Royalist at all.

You have been granted the authority to act as a Captain for the Royal Marksmen, not to insult your betters! Since you have such reverence for the council that rules in our Kings stead, you would be wise to show respect to a Noble who received his title from them!

Furthermore, if they are foolish enough to appoint an unexperienced female to lead one of their regiments, they deserve my contempt!

As stated in my previous communication with you, I hold your nobility in question after your attempted coercion of Captain Stirling. After your most recent communication with me, I also hold your loyalty to the King in question. If you hold them in such contempt, sir, then you are not worthy to call yourself loyal to the crown, let alone swan around wearing a title you should also hold in contempt, if you hold the givers of said title in contempt. I have passed a copy of our correspondence to the Council, and trust they will deal with the matter as they see fit. Until such time as I recieve further communication from them, this matter is closed.

As a loyal servant of the King it is my duty to question the rulings of those he has appointed to rule in his stead. Do not confuse my criticism with disloyalty, for I will abide by their decisions irrespective of my own opinion. Why else do I continue to refer to you by the title they granted you?

As to other matters, I remain uninterested in dealing with someone with so little experience.
