The Book of Shadows of a Olath C'nros

Dim light from the candles in the room flicked their tongues of fire casting strange shadows upon the walls and ceiling of the small stone walled bedroom Arliana was staying in. A small circle of sweet smelling dust was sprinkled on the floor with three different candles surrounding it each one of them black and burning a dim light. They weren't scented but the smoke they let off was thicker than a normal candle though it slipped inbetween the crack between the floor and door. A book sat in the circle, just behind one of the black candles and the page was full of old writing.

"I need you to be quiet, alright Janus?" Arliana turned to her haunted mirror with a raised eyebrow. Looking into the mirrior for any normal person would be creepy, but it didn't bother her anymore. There was no reflection.. just a the tormented face of a male who was overly chatty and insulting at times too, but not to her, only to Keiran which didn't at all bother her; infact she found it quite funny!

The man in the mirror moved his gaze slowly to Arliana and with a heavy and apathetic sigh in his tone he spoke, "I need not reminding more than once." and with that the man faded until the mirror was normal again. Arliana shook her head briefly and tugged off her blue velvet gloves and dropped them down on her unmade bed. Was time to work on her latest spell, time to see if it worked. The half drow stepped carefully into the circle of dust and looked over the words written in the book. She held onto her knees and closed her eyes taking deep and slow breaths before chanting in a quiet voice:

Xuil l' drathir lu' l' slyannen doeb,
Usstan lar pholor l' quar'valsharess belbau uns'aa strengh.
Ulu zao nindyn harl uns'aa naut ulu underestimate ussta importance.
While l' ooble'en d' nindolen chathen ph' alight Faelyrn zhah wun nau jivviim,
Drill vel'drav l' chathen ph' put doeb il orn l'lonna hwuen elghinn.

Arliana lifted her hand and pushed it down on the dancing flame of the first candle. Without a sound she winced and moved the hand away the deep black smoke twisting and turning as it raised from the put out candle. She shuffled round quietly and closed her hand on the remaining lit flames, the black smoke filling the room and making it almost unbearable to remain in.

L' candles ph' doeb lu' l' cuass'ili zhah renor.
L' wlalth zhah luth.

She whispered quietly, her words carried away in the smoke. Raising to her feet she brushed some of the dust off her backside and opened the door to her bedroom, if all went right with the spell by the morning Faelryn's strength would slowly but surely wither until death, only a strong counterspell could help her. There was always a chance however that the spell wouldn't work. Glancing into an actual, un-haunted mirror Arliana sighed, her eyes were deep purple - She had again used too much magic.
