The essence of war had been stirring in the Republic since the Minoc Campaign. Having succeeded in routing the Royalists from Minoc alongside other free men, and the the added resources that came with it alongside a vast improvement in the Republic's power that resulted from the propaganda success-story bringing more new blood into the Republic's forces there was a sense that Vesper could once again take on much of the world and hold its own - as it had done in the past, as it was doing every day in the present and as it was sure to be able to do for what merchants percieved as an indefinite time into the future so long as Vesper remained in profit, the Twothumb clan remained in power and the Militia remained the capable force it had once again become.

Within the Vesparian people's eyes, the great enemy in the Yewish had been pushed back far to the West by the Minoc Campaign, the Covians massive power was finally waning, their advantage over Vesper shrinking - making them a significantly more peaceful and negotiable neighbour. That left the world their oyster for Mercantile and Military conquest. Who else would Vesper turn on for either of these things bar its ancient enemy to the south.

Trinsic. The City of Honor. The Bastion of the Royalists in the Southern Hemisphere and a permanent, sheltered safe house for just about anyone who saw the Vesparian's as targets and enemies to waylay and aggravate. Though the Baron had not said a word to encourage it - for he was not a Warmonger - he had not said a word against it - for he was not about to stop nature taking its course and Vesper from putting the foot down on its enemies.

Trinsic's time would come, its Lord's would be deposed, its people brought into the glory of a Republic. It was only a matter of time.

Boner

"You forgot to pay "Your royal Highness Rand Darkmoore!", the woman shouted after him as he hastily left her room at the Ironside Inn. Rand had been busy of late alongside Draxen especially heating up the conflict between Trinsic and Vesper. As he ventured back into the Swaggers for a late drink he recalled the last raid on Trinsic. It had gone surprisingly well, with the added bonus of angering the Kaldorians with Draxen Davion by beating up two of their men.

Though he was just a Comrade in the vesperian miltia he had acquired quite a talent for stirring up trouble both outside of Vesper and within. This time though, it was the Kaldorians Rand and Draxen set their eyes on. A mere footsolder of Kaldor brushed violently into Draxen at the gates of Trinsic and that was all that was required for Rand and Draxen to have their fun. After insults being hurled left and right Draxen decided to strike down the footsoldier and in the confusion both Rand and Draxen took down the Maul Knight as well. Kaldors men were feirce fighters, everyone in Vesper knew that much, but their numbers had fallen and as such posed little threat to Vesper on their own.

Trinsic was to be destroyed in Rands eyes, the city was a haven for criminals, drow, and necromancers and was rich in gold. The latest battles were mere raids mounted mostly by Comrades such as himself and without any real longterm goals, but Rand hoped that an all out siege and invasion of the city would come soon so that he may gain some of the spoils that Trinsic was well known for having.

Rand retired for the evening and thought up more raid tactics in his head as he ventured back home to the Snakehills. Trinsic would be tough to hold, but he knew the might that Vesper had gained in the world and that -anything- was possible with the Vesperian army and its many mages.

Henry looked over the note that had arrived for him that morning at his newly acquired business in Trinsic which he now ran behind an alias name. It had the Duke Irvyn's wax seal upon it. He pondered for a moment then ripped open the letter and began to read it.

"So Trinsic and Vesper beh at each other's throats again it would seem. Something a "business man" like meh self could work ter his advantage i suspect..."

The planning was coming along well... the foundations for what would seem to be a promising campaign had been laid out. The only thing the Republicans really lacked in the south was a base of operations... and some scouting had revealed an excellent, defensible area in the south which would be ideal.
