Captains Log.

Arriving back on the ship after the bloody British Port Authority had me at their pleasure for a few days, I was greeted with the smell of peaches! Being a fan, I went to the kitchen to investigate. A rather amusing sight was found when I opened the door, It was Jim, up to her elbows in flour, honey and peach chunks with the customary dash of flour on her little nose. If I wasn't so tired I would of laughed, only managed a smile though. After I'd told her where I'd been I wished her good night and retired to my cabin where I slept solidly until the next morning.

Upon waking I got washed and dressed and went out into the mess room where I found a breakfast feast fit for four men! I attempted to eat it all but alas, I was beaten by the huge pie. I wrote a note for Jim thanking her for the breakfast and the general good state of the ship. I went to the crews cabins to leave it on her bunk. On her bunk was a faint smell of mint which wasn't bad at all! Just as I was about to leave the note on her pillow I noticed a book underneath. At first I thought it to be some novel or manual so I picked it up. The title read "Journal", shame faced I tucked it back underneath her pillow and went back outside. Decided to leave the note in the mess room where she had left breakfast.

Met Calico on deck and he told me that the crew needed shore leave so I agreed and will join him in Trinsic soon as I finish here.

Back! Trinsic was grand! The ale was better! Cant really see what I'm writing now though but it Looks *Smudged writing* enough! Bloody guards! No sense of hu*Crossed out* No fun in them! I tell you! Tell you a secret now. I have in my hand Jim's Journal! Just going to have a leaf through. No harm done. I'll put it right back and I wont tell a soul!

It hurts my head a bit trying to read it. Well she doesn't like old Calico! The old ponse she calls him! Tell you something about the old ponse*Intelligble writing* then she bloody screamed! Good times! Hmm she mentions me a lot, and I feel bad about disapearing on her when I said I'd take her to Swaggers. Bloody BPA! I'll write to the bloody Dukey! *A long line from the full stop takes up the rest of the page*

Oh my aching head. Fell asleep reading Jim's Journal and just woke up now. I can hear Calico's snoring from here so it still must be morning. I feel terribly guilty for reading it, and I must return it poste haste. She seems to be proud of working for me which is a good thing. But from what I read she doesn't like the rest of the crew much. I think she may have a crush on me. She is beautiful dont get me wrong, and her legs... And that skirt she wears and when she is high up in the rigging you can see *Crossed out* Wesley! control yourself! She is seventeen and part of your crew and your responsibility! Think I'm still rather drunk from last night can't seem to focus properly. Ah Jim, I am sorry for reading your journal. I must return it now.
Hope no one reads this.

* Jim's Journal A Bilge-rat's Journal *

Spent the night in the inn at Buccaneers Den. Was meant to go to Haven but soon realised we couldn't due to some sort of rift, or maybe a map reading error. I'll go with the rift idea. Here's how it happened.

Me and Jim set off from Trinsic in the evening yesterday, after her meeting me for a job I supposedly had. I only said I'd hope to see her again in the letter I wrote her, so she expected a job! She must have had a hard upbringing. Well. Yes she did, it was in the fighting pits of Jhelom, I forget sometimes. Anyway! We got chatting and I asked her if she wanted to do anything. She said sailing. So we opted for Haven. A nice library apparantly. I gave the map to Mr Galdukes, the tiller man of the Indomitable and we set off on course.

Soon enough Jim was in the rigging swinging to and fro like a magincian monkey. With a leather bustier on and nice blue boots. Tight leggings too. She really knows what she is doing up there. My word her legs go on forever! Anyway. Not long after, we sighted land. Land strewn with Ogres. Alive and dead ones. It didnt look like Haven put it that way. It was bloody Serpents Hold! So I Got Mr Galdukes and showed him precisely on the map where we wanted to go. I halted his rum ration for a month for that error!

On our way again And an hour passes we come to an Island we didnt recognise. We dropped anchor at its North point and armoured up. It looked thick with trees and undergrowth. Jim produced a knife from Virtue knows where, and started hacking a path for us. We eventually came to a house and hanging above the door was a sign. The Assasins Guild. It was only bloody Buccaneers Den! Rather embarrased we headed for the tavern only to be greeted by a drunken ruffian. I gave him one of my death glares and left with Jim in tow. It was dark now so we headed for the Inn.

Arriving at the Inn, I sorted out the room and Jim went to get food. She came back with stew ribs and ale. Oh and a peach! We were both famished so we wolfed it down. Now Jim isn't accustomed to ale, unlike myself! She had one sip and appeared not to like it. But she had another and then another larger sip, and started to enjoy it! She soon started giggling to her self. She was drunk. I smiled to myself, as my previous entry in this log will show, we have all been there. It did not take her long to finish the pitcher and not long after she was on her little bum having fallen off her chair. I could not help myself so I had to laugh. I went over to her and lifted her up into my arms, she was lighter than I thought she would be, and put her on the bed. Soon as she hit the matress she was up on her feet bouncing all over it. I watched for a moment with a smile glued to my face. She began telling me to join in, I said no of course. Well at first anyway, but I was on there bouncing away as I gave into her demands.

Bouncing on the bed is surprisingly tiring, so i jumped off and sat on the chair and told her to get under the covers, so what does she do? She jumps underneath the bed! And starts pretending to be a crocodile. It was a rather good impression and had me in stitches. I told her to get out or else. She just snapped at me, so what else could I do? Why get under and tickle her into submission of course. She was soon screaming so I got out from underneath the bed and grabbed her by the ankles, pulled her out, picked her up and threw her into the bed. Told her to get under the covers as I'm the Captain and that it was an order. So she did. Still smiling I sat in the chair and promptly fell asleep.

Last night I really enjoyed being with Jim. Even though she is part of the crew. Last night she wasn't. Looking back in this log I've noticed I've mentioned Jim a lot now. Why is that? And why am I asking a log questions? Maybe its because I'm hungry.

Think I'm going to have to Hide this log from now on.

As I had more or less just finished the last entry, Jim came in with breakfast. I fear I will get a belly soon if I keep eating the portions she brings me! After breakfast I asked her if she fancied some fishing down by the docks, but she hadn't brought a rod with her. She said she would accompanied me anyway. As we were leaving her pony tail came loose, so she undid the cord and tossed her head forward and shook the mass of long fair hair. I believe I saw Jemima then, and not Jim. She looked bloody gorgeous and dare I say it, pure. She had it back into her pony tail quick enough though and was out the door leaving me dumbstruck for a moment. Am I falling? I never felt like this with Moll. Molly was beautiful and intelligent, but it was not the end of the world if I did not see her on a day. Whereas if I don't see Jim, I miss her. Anyway Wesley, you are doing it again!

As we arrived at the docks Jim promptly made herself a rod from a long stick and some discarded string. We weren't fishing for long and I caught myself a whopper! We called it a day as I had to go and chart a course on the map for Mr Galdukes. I gave the fish to Jim to gut and cook back at the inn.

In the corner of my eye as I was charting the course I could see Jim wielding her knife with a certain flair and swiftness. I smiled and joked that I wouldnt like to be the person on the end of that if she ever lost her temper. She giggled quite a lot at then.

She made Pepperfish from my catch. Bloody nice it was too! After lunch I told her I would give her a basic lesson in how to wield a kryss. We went outside the inn and onto some grass. I gave her the kyrss and told her to stand ready with it. I corrected her stance and lifted the blade up a bit but otherwise she had it. I then showed her some basic lunges, parries and ripostes. Her face was the picture of concentration, brought a smile to my lips it did. After a couple of hours I decided that the tides were right to leave Buccaneers Den and home to Trinsic. She told me that she wouldn't use the kryss as a weapon as it was too big for her and it would get caught up in the rigging and maybe cut the sails. I smiled and nodded, You cant argue with her reasoning! Right! enough of this babble and home to Trinsic!

What the bloody hell is Eike up to!? Touching young cabinboys/girls! Also I'm going to have to have a word about this bloody stealing from the crew too! By the many oceans and seas! I am angry! Had to write a letter to Jim saying that I will sort the problem out for her, and I bloody will do. I hope this hasn't affected her. I will go and knock on her door to see if she is in.

I have done a bad thing again. Jim left her door ajar. I went in looking for her and I saw her diary on her bed. I tried my best to ignore it, but alas I am weak willed it seems. In a way I am glad I read it! This problem between her and Eike has been going on for a while now.
I don't half feel awful for letting her down like I have. My poor Jemima!
Also, she seems to be practicing forging my signature. I will have to watch the accounts for anything untoward. But Jim wouldn't do that surely you fool!
I will have to buy her something to say I am sorry. Any Idea's? Wesley... Don't start that again. *Something is crossed out*

*Sealed with much wax and lettered deeply embossed thereupon, arriveth a scroll for the attention and private perusal of a "Master W. Roberts, Captain of the goode ship Indomitable"*

Master W. Roberts,

It cometh to the attentione of myne learned senior associates that some error of payment hast been in occurrance, and thus thou shalt fynde herein enclosed a cheque to the payable sum of nine-hundred and forty-two gold pieces to be reimnburs'ed as o'erpayment of taxes and duties of one shipment involving the cargo of fresh greene cabbages.

Some omission of fact involving the exact nature of stated vegetable produce mayhap caused the discrepancy in payment and indeed subsequent queries. Alas, some further absenthandedness on the part of one no longer in the employ of the goode Authority of Ports and Vessels hast meant the absense of thy import and export papers and thus the precise quantity and nature of thy cargo hast been lost in its entirity, leaving little else but thine original statement of intent prior to docking at His Majesty's Port some twelfthnight ago. All duties payable on said cargoes of goode greene cabbages are duly voided and reimbursed to thine own goode self, effective immediately.

*a cheque for 942 gold pieces is attached*

The British Ports Authority bids thee every goode wish and continued prosperity, warm wyndes and profitted trade, and lookes forward to favourable business and association with thee in the future.

Featherington
(pvDO)- British Ports Authority.
Well now. Recieved the letter first thing this morning, delivered by a lieutenant of the BPA no less! Something must have rattled them because I thought I was a gonna. Well thats that cleared up. Another day another Crown. I need to go into Britain to pick up some oil for the lanterns, I shall write later oh Log of mine.

Picked up a paper on the way back from the provisioners and by the many Seas and Oceans! It was only bloody Molly that got me off! I thought she didnt care anymore, After all I haven't heard a peep out of her since she left Trinsic for here. My my, I wonder if she's around? Thats twice she's saved my behind now. First for the murder Of Lucien and now this. A grand lass. Best go for a shave.

Well an eventful night indeed. Strolling back to the docks in Britain Who should I see coming out of the library, but Molly Culliton. I couldn't believe my eyes, she looked as gorgeous as ever. She called out my name and asked me if I was rushing back to Trinsic already. I told her I better had as I didnt want to outstay my welcome with the BPA. We got talking, mostly about her career and how I was faring. I thanked her for her help with the BPA and offered to buy her a drink. We went to the Unicorns Horn, a fancy place which was nice and quiet enough for a chat and a catch up.

Molly got the first round in, I had an ale and she had Brandy. She seemed to be pleased with the coverage she got with her report on my incident with the cabbages and the authorities. Knocking back the ales and the brandies we got talking about people we knew or knew of, it seemed just like the first time I met her back in Trinsic when she had been a reporter for the Poste. She kept on bringing up her new job with the Slander and the perks she was getting, but I could not see past her gorgeous eyes, her legs weren't bad either. As it happens, during our talk I missed the last tide. Through fault of my own if I am honest. She kept mentioning them so I wouldn't miss them, but I wanted to miss them. I wanted to be with Molly.

I looked out the window and told her I had missed the tides, she said it was a shame as there might not be any rooms free at this time of night in the inns of Britain. We checked them anyway. All empty including the one she was staying at. She asked the Innkeeper if it would be alright if we shared. He ummed and ahhed for a minute then agreed. I took a deep breath and walked up the stairs with her.

Hers was a small room with a single bed. She got some blankets out an put them on the floor all folded up and gestured me to sit on the bed. She told me how it was nice to see me again. I looked into her eyes and told her the same, I held her hands in mine and went for a kiss at the same time as her. We knocked noses and it was rather embarrasing! She kissed me on the cheek and I told her that Trinsic missed her, implying (subtly I thought) that Trinsic was me. She answered that Trinsic was nice but too small for someone like her, that she didnt do the caged bird thing. She then said that she still couldn't cook. Said it was for stupid people who wanted to look after other people and said it wasn't for her. It made me think of Jim. Jim who cooks for me, cleans for me and generally looks after me. What was I doing in this room? This woman could only ever love herself! I now know Jim loves me, I think, or at least I hope. I love Jim. I cannot tell her though, I don't think she would believe me or understand me. I hope I understand this myself in the morning, what with the amount of Ale I supped. I bid Molly good night and kissed her on the cheek and settled down on the floor with a blanket. I set off at Dawn tomorrow for Trinsic and Jim.

I woke up at dawn in a cold, quiet room with no sign of Molly. She had gone to her career. Again. Oh Jim I am sorry!

Its log time again.
Arrived back at the Inn this afternoon, no one was about. I needed a heads up of whats been happening so I went to Jims room. Sadly she wasn't there, but her journal was.
* http://www.f4g.net/forum/showthread.php?p=8809#post8809 *
Much to my disapointment I read it. Again.
It seems she's quite the artist as there is a nice charcoal drawing of me in there. But as I read through to the latest entry I was a little surprised. She'd been to Haven again to see a so-called Mister Antony. Again, although this time he was joined by a Mister Peter. They were singing songs with her that would make a thirty year Sea Veteran blush! luckily I think the innuendo was lost on her pretty little head. It also seems they were speaking ill of me to her but she defended me! Which was nice. Ah I miss Jim. She's grand company. Well so was Molly until she starts on about her "Career". But with Jim, I don't know, I feel like I can speak to her about anything. Well apart from the one thing I would like to speak to her about of course!
Woe is me log! Cursed in love and cursed in talking to a damned book!
