From the Yew Friendly Hooded Claw.

A Theory! Special News Report from a Vesperian Scholar who wishes to remain anonymous

?Surely with all the unjust behavior going on at the moment it is only a matter of time before the Town of Justice is hit by a spawning crater! And the town of Justice is Yew and this place will be the next scene of carnage ? please gather yourselves and watch the crater of Yew. Yew is the Centre of Justice and the recent Unjust Trial was held there! Watch and see if this behavior leads to an attack on Yew?

A Special Report by Grandmaster Tabbitha

I oversaw the setting up of the healing station by the jail as the Duke had requested.
However several attempts to do the same by the Inn near Paladin Isle proved impossible.
It seemed the more folk tried to quell the invasion, the further into town theinfected creatures came.

I reluctantly left Trinsic with Sir Elliot to attend the Town Meeting in Skara Brae.
It wasnt pleasing to do that ,leaving bretheren to cope alone, but it was vital we found a solution
and possible answers to this occurence.

Arriving in Skara Brae a little late,I was mildly surprised to see Klion D'GAr's son Tristan boldly sat at a table.
Yes I had stated all leaders' to attend ,I didnt expect to see a Yewman though.

No matter,he might be bringing some thing of value to the table. We would see.
Lord Taggart of the Templars was there and before too long others arrived.

The meeting with opened with several questions,to begin the debate.

Why had this occurred in Trinsic ?

Why was the town deserted ?

Had the Duke and Duchy fled to safety?

How could we restore the city to safety.

I opened the debate and it wasnt too long before a flood of ideas and theories began to be shouted out.
I was taken aback, by some of the remarks that were made on the |Duchy not guasrding the town adequately
but I had to be honest and agree I had seen no one other than Pierre earlier that evening.

Cal Soulshadow immediately came to the Duchy's defense [ loudly accomapnied by Gwen the bar supervisior from the Rose]

The Comander pointed out the guard were probably fighting over on the Island and aiding the Paladins, but I had to disagree with her as both Pierre and I had been knocked trying to reach there and apart from Paladins falling in large numbers not a flash of a red uniform was seen.

Several arguments then broke out amongst the leaders, one at least ,thst was nothing to do with the topic of the meeting.

I was accused of not giving enough time for the Duchy to attend the meeting, even though the rest of us had managed it.

This was met with the response that the Duke or other high ups in the town , were maybe too busy fighting to attend 'meaningless meetings'.

We all of us knew though, that neither Moiraine or the Duke himself would of put their lives at risk in such a
way that would leave the town with no leadership.

Lord Taggart was being asked about a point he had made. The point that because Trinsic had lowered its moral standing lately, could be the main factor for the infected creatures appearing.

Maybe the city's lack of of its Virtue ,Honour, had generated this evil ?
This idea brought forth more harsh words and resulted in Commander Soulshadow storming from the meeting muttering words to the effect of 'childish people growing up'

In an attempt to steer the meeting back to Trinsic and how we could aide them best.I pointed out my Order had set up adequate healing stations to ease the load from the towns healers.Even they were under attack at times as Shadow wryms amazingly were opening doors and attacking them and even the injured in their sick beds.

Lady Cherry and Lord Muldran discussed the crater in the town and how there was an obvious connection. The Shadow Court decided to travel to Minoc and further r4searcvh them.We bid them a safe journey.

Others pledged their help as they too sety off to return home, whilst a small group of us remained behind, and discussed more practical reasons why Trinsic of all the places had spawned this horror.

Would other cities and towns become infected?

Was this an attack on the Virtues?

Or was Trinsic just merely reaping what it had sown over past years ?

Crater Part One

Following the Town Meeting in Skara Brae, Muldran instructed the Court to help investigate the craters - once more. First stop was Minoc Town Hall, where Muldran aimed to show the Courtiers the reports left by Jurrel.

And they came face to face with the Commander and several of the Royal Guard.

After avoiding treason charges (and explaining that others thought Jurrel was responsible for the Trinsic Invasion, rather than being there at the same time) Jurrel instructed the Court to talk to the Royal Guard who were there.

Obsidian, Duo, Luther and Falcon spoke with Gorthyn, Muldran, Cherry, Salazar and Araidius. The four Royal Guard explained that they had spoken with the astronomer Sunnansky who had told them that there was a ninth crater. Jurrel had suggested that they look for places that had characteristics of a crater on the map.

The Court decided to search through Buccaneer's Den, while the Royal Guard went to Haven.

On the Den, Muldran was abused by a local who suggested he needed the outhouse, and Cherry lead them into a strange hole in the ground, which was a whole network of tunnels. Muldran suggested they could have come from a star impact, but it would have to have been a huge star. Walking further through the tunnels, the group found the passges stretched through the island, and then returned to the Office in Minoc to meet up with the Royal Guard, and to find out what they had discovered.

Crater Part Two

Mr Skully we are pleased to say the 9th gate has been found and invite you to come an investigate it for research. I enclose a drawing of its location west of Haven docks.

Falcon

[An image is attached]

Crater Part Three

After searching both Haven and Buccaneers Den, the group rejoined in the Minoc Town Hall to discuss their findings. Much to the annoyance of both parties neither had found anything crater like, however a mysterious red rock had been found on Haven.

After more discussion with the astronomer, the group were able to find out that the 9th star had indeed fallen ?within Haven?, however no sign of it could be found on the surface, and the astronomer pointed out that the mysterious red rock did not seem quite right. The search continued?

The Trouble with Ravida

Further investigations into the mystery illness of Ravida and her floating blue shiled have revealed little in the way of information. Her stop-start talking and damaged expression is most worrying though. Please can anyoine find a cure for this desperate woman

Rumours

That there is a high up and prominent member of Trinsician Society who is a self confessed half-drow. Not that this should lead to any problems in any way as you cant judge a book by its cover. But this writer believes the person should come clean and embrace his or her ancestry and tell the world!

Marksman Elise [shouldn?t that be Markswoman?] has been seen in the company of Kaldor?s dashing Talon especially in the Trinsic Rose ? are they just talking over old battle stories or is there something more? Until recently the Marksmen and Kaldor were fighting over Serpent?s Hold. I wonder what kind of serpents the kaldorians are looking to hold now? [Insert your own joke about snakes]

Spiritwood Tavern seems to be re-opening its doors after being closed some time. Please go to the fabled Tavern and see for yourself if you can help.

Seems there was a recent Undead ?Newborn? escapee and she could be heard screaming and shouting about ?the Shadows? trying to ?drag her back?. Sounds like an ominous portent of doom to this writer. I say keep the Undead where they belong ? err which is being Dead. Or . Um.

Dear Poste,

It seems my message has been lost in transaction. I'm gratified that the people are being motivated, but will point out again that I have no involvement in setting up this particular happening, in regards to a protest about Ricardo.

I was merely passing on the information!

Regards,

Muldran

A Notice

MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS!

War is inescapably upon us all, no matter our politics, our towns are being drawn into another conflict of ?Noble? cause. Unsatisfied with a quiet life, two behemoths of the royal court have rallied you, their people, for a large and bloody game of chess to muse them this cold, Avatarmas-season. In this time of war it is vital that you, the people of Britannia, remain astute and perceptive. In this time of war it is vital that you, the people of Britannia, know your enemy!
Your enemy is not the footmen of the Yewish militia!
Your enemy is not the soldier of the Duchy guard!
Your enemy is not even the men and women of Kaldor!
These honest souls are your comrades and brethren, my brothers and sisters!

Our enemies are the merchants of spin and propaganda that fill our notice boards, our streets and our Poste! The whips of the manipulative Duke Irvyn will have you believe your brothers and sisters in Yew are zealotous plebeians and barbarians! And no more innocent are the deceptive and impious words of the wretched Lord D?Gar who paint your Trinsician comrades as demon-loving heathens and hedonist swines! Take heed of their games, children of our continent, and distrust their lies! Disbelieve the pamphlets of Trinsic! Distrust the posters of Yew! De-value the corrupt words of the Morning Poste! Question even this very parchment, though it contains no lies my honest brethren!

Let no lie push you, the free people, into conflict this Avatarmas-season! I have drunk ale with the Guardsmen of Yew, I have shared whiskey with the free men of Vesper and Trinsic and I have raised my glass even to the men of Kaldor! Demons were none of these!
Raise your hammer, raise your scythe and raise your fist! The people of our land are free to choose their fate, let no propaganda shackle you!

Bless you all my brethren this festive season!

Another Notice

Citizens of Trinsic

I guess most of you have read the letters of the Yewian Tyrant Klion D?Gar offering mercy to the ones that kneel before his heel.

Why should we trade our freedom under a faithful to the crown, Lord Irvyn Middlethorn, against the tyranny of a powerhungry warmangering despot?

What has this so called Lord Protector of Yew ever done for Trinsic?

Declaring war on Trinsic!
Capturing and torturing its citizens!
Intimidating Trinsic?s citizens and anyone who would side with us!

Do not trust the lies of this madman!

It is not your well fare he seeks, but cheap lands to conquer and for that he uses the soldiers of Yew without caring how many people die because of it.

Fellow Trinsic citizens, if you don?t want to live under the heel of a powerhungry Tyrant, do your best that the Yewish army does not set a foot upon these lands.

Or next time it might be your children that have to fight in his army for his next delusional conquest.

Say NO to a Yewian Tyranny, fight with all you can do for a free Trinsic following the Duchy under the crown!

A concerned citizen

The hOoded ClAW notes - more and more propaganda more and more people fiddling whilst Trinsic burns - where will be next and who is tryig to stop this?

Duchy Captain home!
Kaldor Vipers torture Kaelyn!

Missing Duchy guard captain, Kaelyn, was finally freed last night after almost a week in captivity. Concerns were raised over her whereabouts after she failed to show up for guard duty last Thursday, but a quick search revealed that she was not at her home, nor had she taken anything with her.

Her whereabouts was finally discovered earlier this week by a patrol of Yewish Waywatchers, who spotted the guard captain whilst mounting a daring rescue to free Danifae D'Gar who had also been kidnapped.

Kaldor Viper captain, Talon, dressed as a brigand, was seemingly in charge of the kidnappings, swiftly handed the two women over to the Guardsmen, rather than risking his neck when confronted by the guardsmen and the White Eagle mercenaries. Lady Danifae was fortunately unharmed, but the Duchy captain was barely alive.

Kaelyn, one of the most popular members of Trinsic’s guard force, had been badly beaten and had three fingernails ripped out during her time with the Kaldorians. She had also developed a fever after a wound became infected, and was left close to death for several days.

The Yewish guardsmen unsure what to do with the Duchy captain, daring not to return her until she was in better health incase the Kaldorians took to beating her again, looked after her in the safety of their cells.

It’s even said the Yewish offered her baptism, and welcoming to the avatarian church. It was during a period that they took her out for some light exercise to help with her recovery that the evil doing Kaldorians jumped out and attacked the Yewish, dragging Kaelyn off with them. It’s heard she was returned to Trinsic half dead and badly beaten.

She is now recovering at an undisclosed location, let us hope that Trinsic intends to bring those responsible to justice.

From wars to weddings
Former enemies wed in secret

By Post Correspondant, Roger Kilbride

The Army of Kaldor and the Royal Marksmen may have put aside their personal war in order to concentrate on defending Trinsic, but one starry-eyed couple are hoping the alliance will last. Kaldor Viper captain, Talon, and Marksmen quartermaster, Elise, wed in a secret ceremony in Nujel’m several nights ago, following what can only be described as a whirwind romance.
The couple, who met during Elise’s short imprisonment in Strongholt, revealed their relationship last night to their surprised comrades who, up until this weekend, were engaged in a bitter war over Serpent’s Hold.
In spite of this, few seemed displeased by the news, including Elise’s former fiancé, Captain Devante Stirling. The only criticism levelled against the couple was from a few individuals disappointed not to have been invited to the wedding.
Still, never mind! Commander Soulshadow must be due another wedding soon, now that her divorce from Sergeant Mordred has been finalised. Men of Sosaria, run for your lives!

Yew town ransacked!
Yewish suffer once again...
Sent in by A Freelance Reporter

Last eve we heard news that Yew town was attacked by invaders from the high seas! While out on a sea patrol the guardsmen militia were forced to open fire with their cannons as a boat full of angry looking cutthroats attempted to board the two militia ships! After a nasty battle the guardsmen militia landed their ships and retreated to the center of Yew town! Lucky for the citizens of Yew, the militia managed to fend off the would be raiders and held their ground. Perhaps the militia is more suited to land warfare and should keep their feet firmly on the ground? It is believed that the brigands of the fort are behind this attack as there have been a number of skirmishes between them and the militia recently. Beware citizens, traveling in Yew these days can be a deadly task!

Rumours!

News has travelled from Cove that Grenadier Sergeant Vince Valentine is to wed! Who is the unlucky lady we hear you ask? No other than Kelly Sanderson, Junior Scout. What in Sosaria can she see in him, or is the junior after a quick ladder climb?
Will this be wedding bells, or wedding hell? Let us know your opinion!

Marksmen Captain missing
Devante Stirling disappears in Ilshenar

By Poste Correspondant, Roger Kilbride

Captain Stirling of the Royal Marksmen has gone missing, according to his elven ladyfriend, Gwen Irima.
Stirling had been invited to a meeting with Duke Irvyn on Wednesday night, and had travelled to the meeting place, at Compassion Shrine in Ilshenar. However, the duke, who had been injured by a poison elemental earlier that day, was suddenly taken sick and the meeting was postponed at short notice.
Although Captain Stirling was seen entering Trinsic moongate on his way to the shrine, he has not been since.
A search party sent out last night recovered Stirling?s bracelet of binding, inscribed ?Gwen Irima?, close to the Compassion Shrine, but there was no sign of the man himself.
Friends and allies of the captain fear that he may have been captured by Yew in retaliation for his decision to side with Trinsic against the militia. However, the captain has not yet been spotted in Yew, so there is no solid evidence that this is the case, as yet.

Paladins? Isle Crater claims Callum Fitzhugh
Shadow Courtier disappears in mad plunge

The Shadow Court?s Callum Fitzhugh astonished onlookers earlier this week by riding his ghostly horse directly into the crater on Paladins? Isle.
Fitzhugh, whose erratic and often suicidal nature has earned him a reputation for being a drama queen, had been aiding Commander Jordan Jurrel in a fierce battle against the creatures spawned by the crater a week ago.
After taking on a never-ending stream of blood and poison elementals, shadow wyrms and nether vortices, Fitzhugh was seen to strip down to his kilt and then spur his horse towards the crater at full pelt, whilst shouting ?Death or Glory!?
What Fitzhugh hoped to gain from this seemingly suicidal act is anyone?s guess. His fate is uncertain. Although it seems likely that the ageing warrior has perished, no one really knows what is inside the crater, or where it leads to.
Our thoughts are with Lucy Lastic, Fitzhugh?s long-suffering partner, and his daughter Scathatch.

-----------------------------

Rumours

According to the latest gossip, Duke Irvyn summoned Sosaria?s leaders to a hush hush secret meeting at an undisclosed location. There have been plenty of talks about Trinsic?s latest troubles with the horrible crater on the Paladins? Isle, but apparently, this was not the topic of conversation.
Since Mister ?Oo-arrr oo-arr call me Lord Protecturr? Klion was the only leader of note not to be present, can we assume that he was the topic of conversation? It seems likely.

Ghastly little horror Claire was seen outside Trinsic last night, though by all accounts she was behaving as if butter wouldn?t melt, for once. Has she learned from having her mouth washed out with soap by the fearsome Commander Soulshadow, or is it all a fa?ade to disguise her fiendish intents? We shall see!

Letters

Dear Poste,

It is with a heavy heart that I write this letter, for it seems the our beloved Poste is no longer a newspaper, but has become a propaganda sheet for Yew.
As a former editor of the Poste, and a some time correspondent, I have done my best to contribute to this underfunded and much-maligned newspaper. Sosaria has always been in a constant state of flux, yet the Poste has been there to report the news, from the birth of Duke Irvyn?s son and heir to the terrible invasion of the blackrock elementals.
Sadly, though, it seems that, in these troubled times, other editors have been less interested in delivering the news that in printing biased and factually incorrect stories in a deliberate attempt to sway public opinions.
Yesterday I submitted a story to the Poste regarding the kidnapping of Captain Kaelyn and Trinsic. To my horror, this story was edited in such a way that the real villains of the piece were made to look like heroes.
Clearly, Gretcha Gossip (a made-up name if every I heard one) is either the pen name of one of Klion?s hirelings, if not Klion himself, or she is taking backhanders. Either way, I feel unable to contribute any further news to the Thursday edition of the Poste, knowing that she will twist and manipulate my words to her own design.
I have enclosed the original story, which is factually correct, and would be grateful if you would print it so that the world can see the truth.

Duchy Captain freed in daring rescue
Kaldor Vipers save tortured Kaelyn from Yew thugs

By Post Correspondant, Roger Kilbride

Missing Duchy guard captain, Kaelyn, was freed last night after almost a week in captivity. Concerns were raised over her whereabouts after she failed to show up for guard duty last Thursday, but a quick search revealed that she was not at her home, nor had she had she taken anything with her.
Her whereabouts was finally discovered last night by a passer-by, who spotted the guard captain being used as a punchbag during a Yew militia training session, and ran to Trinsic to raise the alarm.
Kaldor Viper captain, Talon, who recently lost an eye at the hands of Yewish inquisitors, volunteered for the rescue mission and, after trapping the militia trainees in their own makeshift fort, managed to get Kaelyn back to the moongate and safety.
Kaelyn, one of the most popular members of Trinsic?s guard force, had been badly beaten and had three fingernails ripped out during her interrogation. She had also developed a fever after a wound became infected, and was left close to death for several days.
She is now recovering at an undisclosed location, whilst Trinsic looks for ways to bring those responsible to justice.
Kindest Regards,

Roger Kilbride
Poste Correspondant

Dear Poste,

Regarding your article on the kidnapping of both Captain Kaelyn and Danifae D?Gar, I feel I must point out a few glaring errors. First and foremost, there were no prisoners brought to Strongholt last week after myself. I was there from Wednesday night, so had Kaelyn been taken there, I would have seen her arrive. Secondly, I was treated more than fairly during my stay there, as anyone else could attest I was returned safe and sound, and in one piece.

While it is true that Danifae D?Gar was taken to Strongholt on Monday evening, and returned the same day, it is untrue that Kaelyn was handed over to Guardsmen at the same time. I was present during both Danifae?s capture and handover, the second of which took place after the Guardsmen and White Eagles tried to burn down the building she was housed in at the time. It is true that my husband was present on this occasion, however, he was dressed in his full uniform at the time, not as a brigand, as was suggested by your article.

On Tuesday evening, Natalie of the Duchy Guard informed Shelly of Kaldor, Talon and myself that she had intelligence regarding Kaelyn?s whereabouts. Acting on this intelligence, Talon went to Yew, with the intention of mounting a rescue. He spoke to me via communication crystal, informing me that the Yewish were making a battered and beaten Kaelyn repeatedly run some kind of gauntlet, knocking her down at the end of it each time. Not long after that, a few of us mobilised to assist with the rescue, and Kaelyn was returned to Trinsic successfully.

I would therefore strongly suggest that your reporters check their facts more thoroughly in future, instead of fabricating articles based on one sided stories.

Yours Faithfully

Sgt. Elise
QM Royal Marksmen Regiment

Dere Poste.

I dont now where you got your informashon from for your report about Captain Kaelyn but it is complete lies wich I now as I was told by a Covian that it was Yew who had got her and it was me sent Talon to find her and then he got her out wich we was all very gratefull for. The Kaldorians didnt do nothing exept rescue her and look after her it was the Yew peple who hert her. Your reporter needs to lern that some things make more sense than others and that report didnt make any.

Yours sincerly
Natalie
Guardswoman
Duchy of Trinsic

Dear Editor,

I was very disappointed to read the fabricated nonsense about Captain Kaelyn's rescue in Thursday's Poste.
Your editor, Ms Gossip, is obviously an agent of Yew and should resign immediately for her attempt to include blatant propaganda in her edition.
Captain Kaelyn was captured and tortured by the dishonorable dogs of Yew, and rescued by our brave Kaldor Vipers, not the other way around.
She will attest to this herself, if you take the time to ask her.
I thought this was Ye Morning Poste, not Yew Morning Poste.

Yours

Azedine Kesh
Army of Kaldor

Ed ? Well, quite the hornet?s nest Gretcha stirred up there, isn?t it darlings? Perhaps she has a deathwish! Or perhaps she?s been getting a bit to friendly with one of those burly besiegers (though heaven knows why! That hair dye they all seem to use is the most frightful colour, and personally, I?d rather roll in the hay with a man who actually bathed). Either way I can only apologise on behalf of the Poste. Perhaps Miss Kaelyn would like to give her side of the story, for the record?

Commander Jordan Jurrel Feared Dead!
Gives Life to Thwart Otherworldly Invasion!

Darlings, this weekend saw the departure of the stunningly blond Commander Jordan Jurrel. According to the many reports we've received - one of which can be found below - Jurrel sacrificed himself to seal away the badness that had started to spread evil across the land from the craters. No more late nights pining, no more weeping and wailing, no more Jurrel-groupies asking for hair care tips - the world looks like it's going to be a bit less beautiful now...

Quote:
A special report from Kitty DeVine - Poste Reporter, and Eyewitness
Dear Readers, today I bring news but tragic and wonderful. Jordan Jurrel is dead, but the land is safe, for now.

Commander Jurrel ? he of the flowing, blonde locks and improbably square jaw, summoned the land?s adventurers to Castle British last night in order to put an end to the monsters which are plaguing Trinsic.

There he and a ghostly figure, who was apparently the shade of Father Antos, the mad druid, spoke of the many dangers this land faced.

We followed them to a crater just off the island of Haven, and from there, within. I?ve entered a few dodgy holes in my time, but I had some trepidation about setting foot in one that was likely to be packed with horrible monsters. After all, whilst I have my eccentricities, I?m not a suicidal maniac like Mr Callum Fitzhugh, and in any case, I?d just had my nails painted a fabulous rose pink and wasn?t keen to chip the polish.
Still, being the only Poste reporter in the vicinity, I took a deep breath and went down.
Needless to say, the interior of the hole was full of nasty things: shadow wyrms, nether vortices and, of course, a blackrock elemental. The many warriors who had come managed to defeat them, but a substantial number received injures after the elemental exploded, showering us with debris (and ruining my lovely silk dress!)

It was only after the creatures had been cleared that I saw what a beautiful place the interior of this crater was. There were shimmering crystals in all colours of the rainbow, though some seemed to shimmer more brightly than the rest.

Jurrel told us that these represented the Virtues, and that we must find a way to heal them and stop them disrupting our land, for they were the source of the sickness.
We first activated the Valour crystal by saying what Valour meant to us. From it sprung a huge, brightly-coloured creature, which did not look too pleased to see us! Despite developing a nasty hangnail, I helped bring the beast down, and the crystal then lost its ghastly glow.

We then approached the Compassion crystal, and another beast came from it, but it looked sad and confused, and Jurrel told us not to attack. After speaking to it, we learned that it merely wanted to return home, so a mage gated it to the Shrine of Compassion, and the crystal was healed.

Jurrel said that the Honour crystal was the one that was causing all the problems, and passed his sword, Brightblade, through it, returning it to normal.
But there was still one crystal left to heal; that of Sacrifice.

As we spoke of what Sacrifice meant, the ground began to shake terribly, and Jurrel ordered us to stand back. We knew then that he intention was to sacrifice himself to the crystal, and many entreated him not to do it.
But there was no stopping the commander, and with a single goodbye, he touched the crystal.

Many flames leaped from the ground and the earth stopped quaking, leaving a large crystal spire where Jurrel had stood.

Dazed and emotional, I returned to Trinsic and found the last of the monsters had been killed, and no more had replaced them. Jurrel?s sacrifice had not been in vain.

Jurrel has oft been criticised for being an ineffectual leader, particularly where the ophidian invasion was concerned, but we can no longer say that he did not put the needs of the land before his own. Like Lord Helrick before him, Jurrel made the ultimate sacrifice in order to save the kingdom and its people, and we must thank him for that.

Never has there been a leader so noble or so drop-dead gorgeous. Whoever replaces him has a lot to live up to, that is for sure.
Your weepy reporter has noted that people are starting to wear Red Sashes in honour of the fallen Commander, with a tearful Tabbitha dressing up her Hospitallers with the mark of mourning. Nothing else can be said - apart from we'll miss him! *sniff*

Battle of the Egos
Yew's Klion Slums It

On Saturday, self-proclaimed Lord Protector Klion decided to pay a visit to Trinsic, supported by a number of his guards. Sadly he found no Duchy guards to beat up, as they were all too busy fighting the monsters on Paladin Isle, and had to be satisfied with a brief encounter with a few citizens (none of whom accepted his much vaunted offer of clemency). He and his men went to view the battle against the crater beasts, but only from the safety of the city wall, not risking coming any closer. This seems an action of considerable cowardice, and one that was observed by a number of the defenders, one of whom (Lady Fauna Riboflavin, a well-known and respected Britannian citizen) was heard to comment how typical it was of Yew?s behaviour.

Certainly it shows that Klion has no interest in combatting any evil in Sosaria, which leads one to wonder whether he would be a good supreme ruler - the role he seems to have picked out for himself. Even Duke Irvyn has been fighting alongside his people, although not on the front lines as his guards have refused that, but he was several times seen in the park area cutting down the reapers. It would seem that Irvyn is a man who puts his city ahead of his ambition, if he has any. Doesn?t that seem preferable to Klion, a man who is quite willing to sacrifice all his people and everyone else for the sake of his own swollen head

Letters

To the Morning Poste,

I find your readers reaction to Gretcha Gossip's article on the imprisonment of this "Kaelyn" character most amusing. Assuming that what she wrote was indeed untrue, how is that in any way inconsistent with the papers usual style? Surely they realise that the vast majority of issues are plastered with insidious lies, namely against the Yewish. And yet when, for once, the lies are directed at some other group, there comes a torrent of whining letters in response. The former correspondants accusation of the Poste becoming a "propaganda sheet for Yew" is the most laughable claim I ever ever had the misfortune of reading. Perhaps the general readership can 'dish it out but not take it' when it comes to paper bias, to put it in a colloquial manner.

Also - a personal note to "Ms" Kitty DeVine. I do not mind insults of my Besiegers, so long as they are both
witty and intelligent. Unfortunately, for all that expensive education your rich daddy no doubt paid for, it appears you haven't picked up the ability to deliver on either of these two fronts. What's that phrase? You can't polish dung? Furthermore, perhaps you would have the honour and decency to say such to our face in future, rather than insult from afar? I regret that I am forced to act in such a shameful manner myself, but I am not aware of where you reside. I suspect you don't know the way to Yew, and have developed your bigoted attitude without ever seeing those you look down upon. However, i'm sure that you could ask someone to escort you here, if you can dare travel to this barbaric and inhospitable land, where you're reliably informed the primitive and working class native savages merely grunt and grumble to communicate.

Regards,
Sineal Walker, Besieger Corporal of the Guardsmen Militia of Yew.

[Lola writes: Well well well - the propganda war when it was the grown-ups was astounding, but now the real people have got involved... we know it's serious. And following Sineal's comments, we have the Trinsic side...]

---

Dear poste,

It seems you nay got any facts right or only from the Yewish side, so I would like to talk to your reported and ask her where her informations come from.

This is an account of what I remember what happened in the last few days.

I was at the end of my shift when five or six armored people stopped me near the tavern. They said that there was a bounty of six thousand coins on my capture and that I should come with them and that all would be fine.

Knowing that I better take my chances than get kidnapped and sold off, I tried to run bat was knocked down and then carried off.

When I awoke I found myself traded to some Yewish officer, who seemed a bit surprised but paid them the gold and put me in a cell.

I was then to be questioned and one man came in and asked me to tell me all about Trinsic, its commanders military strength and secrets or he would burn my hair away and my face with it.

I told him my name and that I was a guard of the Duchy but my oath nay made it possible to tell them more, so they got another man in there who bound my hands and feet. He then got a knife and started to flick off my fingernails first on the little finger of my left hand and then the ring finger.

As I still nay told him anything he wanted to know he also removed the nail of my thumb on the left hand and threatened to do much worse.
So he took a dagger with some poison on it and cut my hand.
He must have underestimated the poison as I fell unconscious and he nay bothered to treat it as I awoke later on with a hurting hand and a starting fever.

Nay one of the guards bothered and I fell into a high fever and I nay can remember much as all was a blurr, but luckily someone finally called a healer and treated my wounds.

It took me days to be well enough to stand up again and I was finally led out to wash and do some chores. They then let me watch their training and for their amusement beat me up a few times.

If not someone had seen me there and reported to Trinsic that I was held captive, I still would rot in a cell there and probably be babtised (whatever that is) like a Yewish magik user threatened me with.

It was during the training where the Yewish beat up each other when one of the kaldorian jumped out of her hiding place and distracted the guards.

At the same moment Talon ran from the woods and dragged me along into the woods, until I managed to walk on my own. We then managed to get to Trinsic into safety and to freedom again.

So not only did someone under the Yewish command beat me up and kidnap me, no they also tortured me after dragging me onto their lands.
If not for the bravery of the ones that helped me I might have died there under Yewish torture.

If you wish an interview about the events or any other with me please feel free to come by and when I have time I will surely answer you.

I expect a correction of your article as soon as possible with an apology of your reporter, else I will see it necessary to take appropriate measures that such a thing nay happens again.

Kaelyn, Guardswoman of the Duchy and resident of Trinsic

From the blackrock-eating Hooded Claw

Paladin Pierre kidnapped by Yew Militia

by Poste correspondent Roger Kilbride

Trinsic Paladin Pierre Vikor was kidnapped at the weekend by the Guardsmen Militia; the latest in a series of hostile acts perpetrated by Klion in his vendetta against Trinsic.

A listening device placed by Kaldor operatives revealed that Pierre?s captors wanted to find a way to dishonour the paladin, and were mulling over various options including cutting off his hands.

One of the male voices heard on the device also suggested slaughtering Trinsic?s women and children, or cutting the Trinsic citizens into small pieces while the children were forced to watch.

In light of this, Klion?s claim that Trinsic is ?the City of Dishonour? is a bit rich. The mutilation of a man of virtue and the slaughter of innocents are hardly acts that reflect well on Yew, which is fast gaining a reputation as a city of mindless brutality.

Trinsic authorities are taking the threats against Pierre seriously.

Only last week, Trinsic guard captain Kaelyn had three fingernails torn out by the Yew thugs, whilst Kaldor Viper Captain Talon had an eye gouged out.

However, a rescue attempt proved unsuccessful after it emerged that Pierre had been moved from his original cell to a new location.

What the Yew militia want with a paladin is unclear at this point. We can only hope that they see sense and release him unharmed. Whilst despot Klion is adamant that he is doing the king?s work, it is unlikely that the Ruling Council would approve of the kidnapping and torture of a paladin.

After all, how can you trust a man who swears that he serves the king, yet, by failing to recognise Compassion, does not observe the Virtues as set down by Lord British?

- The Hooded Claw asks if Klion will present himself for interview with me in a neutral location to answer these allegations?

Crime Spree!

Rumours from the street are talking about a new upsurge in the current thieving and general banditry coming from some cut-purses who have been stealing, a robbing and a stabbing all across the lands. Cove, Yew and Trinsic have seen an increase in the crime rate.

An insider tells us ?its daylight robbery!?

Baron Octiovius and Lady Caroline to Wed!

Seems that sharp tongued Caroline has finally found someone willing to put up with her incessant rabbit ? Coves Baron! In a shock development it seems that love lorn Caroline ? who has worked her way through much of Sosarias nobility ? has decided on Cove as her summer retreat. She enjoys the sea breeze and her marriage to the Baron will be reported in here along with pictures once the event has taken place.

Whatever Happened to Seriya De Lacey

Red haired once darling of the Trinsic social set and seen at close quarters more than once with the Duke of Trinsic [not to mention anyone who calls themselves a leader, noble or even the ancient powerful Ra Karn Moon] seems to have gone missing. The former Five Aces owner hasn?t been seen for a while ? it is rumored her friends have not seen her for some time ? but there is no worrying reports of where she might be. Seriya De Lacey has a long and interesting history as one of Sosaria?s honey pots ? but has yet to be wed ? or at least if she is wed then it?s a very hush hush secret.

If you know where she is please let us know.

Yewman in Charity Prize Giveaway

Klion D Gar ? Yews famous and dashing Overlord ? has again offered to wine and dine any one who will gift aid 1 000 000 gold pieces to the ?Investigating Jordan Jurrels Disappearance fund? and personally show them around his vast lands in Yew accompanied by the merry sounds of laughter coming from his Elven friends ? non humans and magic users especially welcomed.

Nujelm Empty or Is there a Hint of Collegium?

Word has it that Nujelm may have seen the return of some of its recent inhabitants - or that in fact they are spending more time in Haven. Please let us know if the rumours are true.

Jordan Jurrels field!

It seems that Lady Flame of the Bloodguard has found that Crystalline Encased Jordan Jurrel is now surrounded by a mysterious field of some force. It is rumoured that Muldran Skully is gathering the Shadowcourt to make a full investigation into this new phenomena with the Bloodguard's help and assistance. Messages will be dispatched to the scholars of Umbra also askign for their input and to make the trip to this new archaelogical site. More news on the expedition date and time to follow.

Cove tinted yellow
New Captain elected!

Yesterday within VanQa's own Trinsic Rose Covian Commander choose their new Captain. Congratulations on soon to be wed Hoagie Cindy Facey was name apparently was pulled out a hat.
On being asked what Captain Facey was going to do towards Yew he responded with "If I said that, I'd have to kill you." which is a shocking display of violence on the streets! Be careful of this man folks, he has an un-dying vendetta against everyone since he was hit by 'The Quill Bandit'.

----------------------------------------------

Rumours

Seems Coves new Captain is expecting small feet around the house. Him and a green haired peasant were discussing names under the shade of Trinsic bridge - The horror.

Minoc - Jordan Jurrels office stands empty. But rumours abound that Britannians following the virtue of Luv are tryign to move in! It seems that Trevelyan and his boys and girls are staking a claim to yellow haired stringy runner bean dandy Jurrel's office - it is hero-worship? Or is it that they want to get their hands on his valuables!

And Tristian D'Gar has been hanging around Trinsic a lot recently, is he there seeming someone special? Or is he just trying to be a pain in the arse?

Grey Man and wanderer Drax Drodun was again out looking for anyone who would take him seriously and listen to his pleas for assistance. It seems most are more interested [quite rightly] with dodging the various swords, projectiles and spells being fired at each other around the Trinsic War Zone than a grey-bearded old man. Drax is claiming that "There has been born five things of abomination which must be destroyed for fear of life its self being sucked into the Void Chamber and the world as we know it being destroyed and shattered". It seems he has been "reborn" into this world and is looking for anyone who can help him.

During the recent secret ceremony in the Lord Cardinal Gorthyn's House in Rhovanion the former Shadowcourtier known as Samba appeared with his own demonic prediction of the destruction of the world we live in. This follows Lord Light's predictions some weeks ago. More and more of Sosarias Mystic Men, Demons and Prophets are seeing the world at an end - will it go out with a bang or a whimper?"

A dying and badly burnt female was found staggering into Vesper across the famous North Bridge into the city of Bridges last night. She was clutching some parchments and was seen to be talking to a shady character dressed head to foot in black and greys who hurried her into one of the taverns. From where she never returned. All that could be found later was one scrap of paper with the words "Tower of the Moons" written on it in some red ink

Bumper Christmas Issue
Or Yuletide. Or Avatarmas. Honestly, it's a special time, I don't care what you call it!

Darlings, with all the alcohol imbibing and wild parties going on for everyone (not just those locker-room lads in the Army of Kaldor!) well - we've got a few days worth of articles to catch up on! So in the first part of your bumper Poste, we have items that have come in over the last week...

A late piece of news just in - after the impromptu success of last years 'Carolling in Rhovanion' (as conducted by a drunk Graham the Gray and a slightly more drunk Salazar) the Shadow Court would like to invite one and all to another Christmas Eve Carolling Session, with plenty of wine, beer, mead, and etheric feedback.

Come along from 7:30pm GMT to the Caradhras Inn, Rhovanion. You'll be sure of a warm welcome!

Vesper Trade Caravan Raided
People of Vesper Face An Old Foe!

It appears that Vesper it again under attack from one of its old enemies, bandits. Recently during a trade caravan that was heading to Trinsic to deliver goods, bandits attempted to attack. Luckily for Vesper, The Royal Marksmen, Kaldor and the Elves were close by to lend a hand fighting of the attackers. We are as of yet uncertain which bandits are behind this attack but some old faces were recognized during the fighting by some citizens of Trinsic. Droeden, Lucius Virius and Kempo among others. All thought to be members of that nasty brigand gang. Let?s hope the good people of Vesper can stand strong against such a cowardly enemy!

Vesper Bank Robbery
Guards Caught Off Guard!

Last evening The Mint of Vesper, Vespers town bank, was raided by a group of sword wielding brigands! The Vesperians fought a valiant defence but alas failed to protect their treasury. It leaves me wondering what Baron Twothumb must be thinking. Perhaps an interview is in order? We are hearing reports that bounty?s have been posted in Vesper with a 10?000 gold reward for information leading to or the capture of any of these violent thugs.

Posted against the Poste's front door.

To All Interested Parties,

Yet again the Pretender Klion D'Gar has turned his warmongering eye towards the city of Trinsic.
His own quest for power and his inability to control the Yewish bloodlust without allowing them to hound others has meant once more innocents are put at risk!

Under the Pretence of routing out rebels, he now seeks to Usurp Duke Irvyn from Trinsic and force a puppet leader in his place! A puppet no doubt firmly under Yewish dictate!
This Pretender sends his men to attack a Loyalist town, whilst claiming to serve Our King himself!
Our own dear King whose very words the Pretender refutes, denying the very existence of one of the Virtues Our King entrusted us to follow!

This Pretender, who knows little of how to follow any of Our Kings Virtues, who publically gloats over those he has slain in his endeavours, who brings bloodshed to innocent towns under the pretence that they are allied to his enemies and who himself lives a life of hypocrisy, wishes only to subvert a town whose tolerance, compassion and honour he cannot begin to comprehend.

Be not fooled by this Pretender!

The Time has now Come to ensure the Pretender is exposed for what he is!

The Time has now Come to stand against him and his Tyrannical ways!

The Time has now Come to defend Trinsic, lest he turns his eye towards your own home next!

The Time has now Come to Defend Trinsic, to defend Sosaria from the Yewish Threat!

Muldran Skully in Pink Dress
Poste refuses to append the word Shock

An odd occurrence took place at the gates of Trinsic, as such things often do. In fact, darlings, your less-confused reporter is almost inclined to simply whip out the word odd, since really, that's all there is to it.

A group of people - with Muldran Skully trawling nearby - visited Trinsic and slightly confused the Guards, by Muldran singing the praises of someone called the Maestro.

He then headed off into town, and left shortly after. In a pink dress.

Must be that time of year again. Warmth. Friendship. Family. Cross dressing.

Miss Skeeter
I really must protest in the strongest possible terms, at the scurrilous lies written about me in yesterday's Poste. I was horrified to read of my alleged impending nuptials, and to the Baron of Cove! How dare your reporter (who is so cowardly that they dare not declare their name) put such a complete fabrication into the newspaper?
I thought that this gutter rag could not sink any lower, but once again, you leave me incandescent with rage, at these absolute lies.
For your information, I have been, and still am, living quietly with my relations, Lord and Lady Middlethorn, at the Duchy Tower. His Grace, the Duke can vouch for this, as he visits regularly.
I wish to see a complete retraction of this tissue of lies, and a public apology on the front page, or you shall be hearing from my lawyers forthwith.
Yours in anger
Lady Caroline Middlethorn

[Lola Writes: Well, your truth-writing reporter can't issue the apology, but Rita can let you know herself. But it's nice to see you're getting into the Christmas spirit - all incandescent like a firework!]

Dear Poste
I'm writing about the much maligned Maestro of the Collegium, a delightful young lady by the name of Lyria. A week or so ago, a couple of members of the Shadow Court had a little disagreement with her, and it all went pretty ugly. However, she was most reasonable about the situation, and after I corrected her as to the status of Cherry (being of equal importance within the Court as myself, as a 'Lord Cardinal') she quickly laughed it off as a misunderstanding that could be forgotten. May I add that she has a beautiful laugh, reminiscent of tinkling water, singing robins, and innocent children?

Anyway, just to say that I believe that she is truly embodying the spirit of the season! On another note, I'm wearing a pink dress because I wanted a change. As people know, I have been at the forefront of fashion in previous years, what with my hair, my neon wading boots, and my red dressing gown. I'm a mage, I'm supposed to be eccentric. Besides, it's no more odd than seeing Commander Soulshadow in a dress, hmm?

Yours,

Muldran Skully, Shadow King of the Shadow Court

[Lola writes: Yeah. Right.]

------------

What's On?

Well - being that family time of year, the Poste hasn't been informed of anything big happening for the next few days - so have a simply fabulous holiday, and we'll see you all soon!

(Oh, apart from the Shadow Court 'do' as mentioned above. Your darling reporter assumes cross-dressing is optional.)

The Poste - Homeless Again?
New Town - New Danger?

Darlings, your delightful reporter isn't one to get into all of this mucky business with money. Goodness knows, she can't remember the last time a paycheck was received! But a terse note from the always polite and endearing Kaelyn reminded us that the Monthly Dues have not been paid again. Now, darlings, I know that the Poste costs a pittance (and most of you grubby so-and-sos just read someone else's copy - yes, you, reading this now, feel shame!) but this constant hounding is getting to be a bind on the creative process! How can your gorgeous reporter think when the baliffs are knocking at the door?

So - is anyone able to build printing presses, and put us up for a little while, while an arrangement is reached?

Yewish Blood In The Snow!
Guardsmen Moral Low?

Last evening an outpost near Stonekeep was the scene for a bloody battle. The Guardsmen Militia battled against a force of rampaging brigands! The brigands suffered heavy losses but eventually pushed the militia out of their own outpost! With such a heated conflict in the north, only getting hotter in this chilly time of year, one wonders if this holiday season will see any peace at all.

New Nujel'm?
New Danger?

All has been quiet on the jewelled isle for quite some time, but it seems that the populace - long used to being ruled over by the cruel velvet-encased-iron-fist of the Sultan has been replaced by... another one. News is scarce at the moment, but it seems that a high ranking officer named Alihm rose up against the current Sultan Abdul-Hadir and murdered him in a very public display. This officer has taken over that particular office, and claimed that he is now Sultan.

Whether or not this coup is a quiet one - or one of those noisy ones that draws people from across the seas - we'll have to see.

Give us our damn Office's back!

Turning the Tides
Despite Klion?s much-vaunted claims about his sure and certain victory in the war he started against Trinsic, his credibility (already rather dented by the distinct lack of support from any of his supposed allies, and the ridiculous propaganda produced in Yew) has taken some further heavy knocks over the last few days. First, he lost a skirmish at the Trinsic moongate while Duchy and Kaldorian troops stood and watched. Then he lost an outpost to his local brigands. On Saturday he sent a force of a dozen or so against Trinsic, which was speedily destroyed by the defenders, leaving the great Lord Protector to crawl home again with his tail between his legs. Then later the same day, to add insult to injury, he was attacked in his very own tavern and knocked down yet again by a person or persons unknown.

With his usual lack of compassion (which of course he doesn?t believe in), he has now turned to blatant terrorist tactics against Trinsic, sending a mounted guerilla force in very late on Saturday evening and indiscrimately attacking women and children. This is hardly likely to gain him any sympathy in Trinsic or elsewhere, and it really seems more likely that the citizens and defenders of Trinsic will be even less eager to consider his public offer of clemency. Which, by the way, no-one has yet accepted, as far as we know. A rather speaking comment on the contempt felt by Trinsicians for the self-styled Lord Protector of Yew.

Cove celebrates another victory!
This time against Haven.

Yesterday glasses were raising in Cove as they were out numbered but victorious in battle against The Order of Haven. The attack was a suprise and only a few Covians were around and exhausted from just fighting in exodus.
When the Covians thought all was lost The Baron himself took up arms and charged the remaining men along side Scout Dalamar, Kal Shadowhand and Corporal Mela Arkay. Hats off to the Baron himself who was standing with barely a scratch at the end of the battle - Now thats my kind of man!

Vernissage ~ The Art of Kaelyn from Trinsic

On Sunday night the exhibition of the young aspiring artist Kaelyn from Trinsic opened with a vernissage, giving the visitors the chance to see the paintings and sketches as well as to meet the artist herself and hear the stories behind the canvas. Few artists these days possess the consistency and productivity to feature a full exhibition and thus, the art of Trinsic’s popular guard captain drew many curious visitors into the rooms of the University. Strengthened by the fabulous catering services provided by Stewan Seagull the guests took their time to study and discuss the varying motives and styles. While true art never pleases the taste of every onlooker all were in agreement that Kaelyn shows an extraordinary talent and a promise for many more paintings and exhibitions. Undoubtedly an increase in the value of her pictures will underline these statements.
Those that missed the opening night will have time till next Sunday to visit the exhibition at the Umbra University.

Kaldorian Kapers Kwikly Lead to Trouble!

Meanwhile!

Kaldorian Hero and Stalwart Veggy returns after many harrowing battles to find the one light of his life has been carrying on with the maul sergeant Mordred and husband of Cal Soulstealer. He is understandably upset by this and offers to throw himself from the tallest tower of Trinsic.

Mordred meanwhile means to tell Natalie of his double dealing but their respective duties mean they can't get together before Natalie finds out from gossip monger and hound of Darkness Elise. Perhaps Elise has her eyes set on young Natalie herself? or Mordred the Biggest Boy in Kaldor?

The rumor gossips of Trinsic also tell us that “Natalie, who is slow to trust anyone, is absolutely devastated and has run away forever.” We hope she is well and hasnt taken any too drastic action.

Cal Soulstealer has fallen out with love rat Mordred again and sources close to her say that “ She's rather vulnerable from having Kai bugger off again.” Man mountain Kai - afraid of women - seems to have left in order to find his true calling in life after having a vision of his own mortality.

Mordred and Shelly are apparently fleeing to Gorimdor for a month to escape all the flack they're getting. A Kaldorian told us "A lot of people have daggers drawn for Mordred, even his former popularity cant seem to save him."

So beware the Kaldorian Love Rats

However now it is clear to everyone that no one should trust the Kaldorians, who s
