Lucius was born in Britain to a very wealthy family. From a young age Lucius had show great interest and aptitude towards magic, and thanks largely to his family's wealth he was trained by the best mages money could buy.

Life was good for Lucius except for one thing. He did not like it that he was Elven. The world he lived in was mainly human and he longed to fit in with everyone else.

During the invasion of Britain Lucius' beautiful wife and infant son were both killed. Lucius tried to save his family but was not strong enough to stop the beasts, and his family was mauled to death in front of him. Lucius blamed himself for months for the death of his wife and child and hid away in the family house alone and angry.

Lucius having studied magic had been told about "Dark abilities." A power that could save those you love from dying and even bring the dead back to life. He then went in search of someone who could teach him these skills, so that he could one day bring his family back to him.

His quest too him to Umbra where he met a tall, thin, pale looking man wearing a dark hooded robe who told Lucius he could teach him this dark art called "Necromancy." The man tried to warn Lucius that these powers were not natural and that there was a price to pay for trying to change the laws of nature. Lucius took no heed in his warning as he was willing to do anything to get his family back. So his training began.

The dark powers came easily to Lucius as he had so much anger and hatred inside him to feed off and fuel the magic. What Lucius did not realise was the effects that his new ability was having on him as slowly things began to turn bad.

His new ability allowed him to converse with the dead, sometimes with good results but mostly with bad results. He began to hear voices that tourmented his every waking moment, see horiffic scenes of death and violence. Even in his sleep he was not safe. He was in a constant state of anguish and fear. As his powers grew so did his torcher.

Lucius had become so twisted by the will of his dark ability that he was almost at its mercy. When he found out that his master could no longer teach him anything else, Lucius was furious as he was still not yet strong enough to sucessfully bring his family back to life. He turned on his master, and at that moment, as he exploded in rage and anger attacking his master with all his might he felt peace for the first time in years. After a long battle Lucius narrowly came out the victor. He took his master robe and left Umbra forever.

Lucius wondered Sosaria for long time after that, his anger and hatred towards man, beast and even himself had fully consumed him. He has long forgotten about his family and his hatred is now the only thing that drives him.
