They are also very easy to obtain at resonable to high grades when compared against the old O level standard.
The good thing about modern education is that its now a bit more vocation orientated but this has caused i believe the levels of basic arithmetric and english to fall.

I dont think i have ever had to show my certificates to anyone when i have ever applied for jobs and i didnt produce them to get into college.

I know my brothers gf wanted to aply for a job but didnt have enough quals so he said to her to lie as no one will check....lol she got the job and is now an area manager :P

I'm in college now and they didn't once look at my GCSE's until like five months into the course. Saying that, they can access all you stuff from some sorta database which is usually found at your local council thingy ma jig or whatever.

Clever sods arn't they...
