Well so much for that idea... my client is refusing to patch - reinstalling it as I'm posting so we'll see.

Wish I was... gonna be another couple of weeks while I migrate to a new ADSL provider. Finally giving plusnet the boot, they're useless.

And now for something completely different... it seems like it's nothing to do with plusnet because I get a useless ping to the patch servers through any of my various connections open to abuse... i mean my use (ie Plusnet ADSL, Nildram SDSL, NTL 2MB fibre, even my server in RedBus 2 on a 100mbit pipe).

Edit: Finally persuaded it to update to 5.0.6e... just takes a bit of patience and a lot of retries. Looks like I'll be up and running tomorrow!

That's good. I have to admit I have never had problems patching so I don't know what it could be. Being techy, you'd have a much better idea than I do!

Yeah there was no way in hell I was going to reinstall. I've got all the patches - why do I need to?
I guess we'll all have to reinstall with the new client, when it comes, though.

There was no need to reinstal anyway, just using the code was enough. Hopefully the code on the new client CD will be so up-to-date that it won't need 3000 patches to make it usable!

Yeah, I was having a bit of a cleanup, so I uninstalled, deleted old patch data (big mistake!) then reinstalled with new CD.

Ah well, requested MAC code - BT Business here we come!
