I believe there was some sort of program developed enabling people to use directX10 games on DirectX9. Some kinda patch to enable the games to work i was told, not sure if this is true mind.

From what i have heard, there are individual fixes for Halo2 & shadowrun, but i have yet to hear of any universal fix.

It's unlikely there would be a universal fix because DirectX 10 supports certain instructions which just don't exist in DirectX 9.

Also, I'm using Vista - partly because of the work I do, but the only issues I've had have been with 3rd party drivers not being written properly.

Does Vista have an option for a classic Windows look? I have my XP set up to look like 95/98. I don't like the shiny buttons and shit.

I tried Bioshock.. now im actually glad my sound doesnt work on it, heh. Didnt like it.. too freaky environment, little girl zombies using a drill on peoples heads and stuff..

I also use the classic XP-theme, with the classic start menue. I really cant stand the nasty XP start menue... it feels so cumbersome.

Bioshock.. well, thats a love/hate relation between me and that game. I expected more. I expected horror, i expected it to add something new to the genre... all i got was a waterd down System shock 2, with zombie girls, and shiny graphics.
