Dear Commander,

You may already have been informed that Baron Kain Twothumb turned up at Trinsic gate last night and confirmed that he will meet with me in Strongholt at 8pm today. His attitude was somewhat belligerent and this may be the prelude to a trap. I will assume that with your normal efficiency you will be making preparations accordingly. I have asked both the Elves and Marksmen to be present also.

I imagine that your men will also have informed you that Baron Twothumb accused Kaldor of attacking him in Minoc yesterday. I am certain in my own mind that this is not true; however, it would be as well to ready yourself to produce what proof you can. Let us hope that he can be convinced.

I must thank you for the discipline and restraint of those of your men who were present at the gate when Baron Twothumb and his force arrived. In their wise decision not to attack the Vesperians they may have helped our cause considerably, and are to be commended.
